Its directed more so to people on balmung/gilgi/ragnarokI would but i am locked on Omega the server i thought would not be so congested. I know it was my choice to move that is fine but it is way to congested for me. I want a small server i wasn't aware there was another server being added the day after.
I came off a small server just needed a change. I guess i am stuck there for now but as soon as my 90 days are up i am goneBut on your comment yes id love to move but i already have and now i am stuck.
i stumbled upon this thing recently, explainign in detail why they can't.
TL;DR: If they added more memory for characters, they would have to slow down the rate at which character data updates, which would risk you getting out of sync with the database. This isn't a problem of "add in more memory" this is "better hardware to upgrade would be much mroe expensive than getting more servers".
dank meme
As I explained in my first post: we shouldnt look at the number of people in the queue but rather how fast that queue is moving - "900+" means nothing unless we know wether it took 10 minutes (currently the case for me) or 3 hours (time it took on early access weekend when you were lucky and sacrificed your firstborn)
Doesn't matter how fast its moving. Doesn't change the fact that even at prime time the normal queues are down to around 50 people. This "band aid" fix is literally making things worse. Instead of resetting the servers why not finally fix the afk exploit thats been around for 4 years? As I explained in my first post: we shouldnt look at the number of people in the queue but rather how fast that queue is moving - "900+" means nothing unless we know wether it took 10 minutes (currently the case for me) or 3 hours (time it took on early access weekend when you were lucky and sacrificed your firstborn)
The queues won't stay that low without this fix. There are still people dodging the auto logout for whatever reason, and they'll continue to accumulate if SE doesn't get rid of them, which will in turn make queues longer and encourage people to start dodging the logout mechanism again. This is maintenance to prevent the problem from coming back, and a 10 minute queue to clear 1500 people once a day is far better than a 4 hour queue to clear 3500.Doesn't matter how fast its moving. It does matter though - login queues after the auto-logout are because there are to many people wanting to get on the server again.Doesn't matter how fast its moving. "Normal" login queues are because there are to many people on the server.
We all freaking know that this isnt ideal and that they should indeed working on some emans to prevent circumvention of the auto-afk-kick, but until then: This is the best we have. Seeing how my 1.3k yesterday after the logout was cleared within 15 minutes and how I had no queue at all tonight, suggests that its somehow working.
This isnt ideal but I take it over no solution any day.
I play on Ragnarok and don't have big dc problems.
Also the queue time went down from 1.5 hours to 10-30 minutes in the evening
