Materia is awesome, and is a fantastic addition to the game. They gave us twice the inv space because they acknowledged it would be a problem for a wile. So what? Deal with it. They are on a path to correct the issues in this game, inv space included. Fact is, we don't know what the solution entails for the inv problem, it could be some ingenious new UI. It could be crap too, but only time will tell. It takes time to develop software, live with it or move on and come back after 2.0.

You're exactly right, They specifically said they added the entra space to offset the space that would be required for materia until a better system could be implemented. My guess would be something like the crystal inventory that does not take up your regular inventory, and probably due to system limitations they cannot just add another category. 2.0 shows up and I'm sure they will be able to, or do something completely different and solve it anyway.

I never quite had that inventory problem and I do all the DoH and DoL, but hey! it's just me.

yeah lol that I don't understand either. I just sell everything that I don't need. kids are really getting ridiculously whiney now a days. 2.0 is coming out soon and they will fix everything you whine about. Regarding the OP, I think the main, and valid, complaint there is in the management of inventory space. Yes, extraneous crafting materials as well as HQ+1 and +2 materials were or will be removed. To repair equipment now requires only the universal repair material Dark Matter rather than a dozen possible materials per craft. All-purpose dyes also have made a couple dozen more base materials obsolete.

However, in adding the materia system, the inventory space saved by eliminating those obsolete items has been filled again. There are 12 new materia melding catalysts, and as the OP stated, materia doesn't stack in your inventory. I'd prefer materia that can level up, with a set progression of stat bonuses, rather than tiers with a randomized result. Materia made this way could be stacked, since stat bonus values would remain consistent.
