I can look at the Marketplace and see how much each Materia sells for. It is available to level 1 players. Nothing I said is exclusive to level 50 players. Then it is merely about calculating one plus one. People buy tier IV for ridiculous prices when they can achieve the same benefits for a lot cheaper using tier III and below. This is a fact.

All the system does is create waste. People reject materia with lesser values, while they hold out for higher value materia. If the goal was simply to force players to craft and stimulate the economy, they should just give the process a rate of failure, or have them break down into other USEFUL items. Producing waste is not exciting gameplay.

I have socketed most of my materia. You can still make good armor with 2 +15 for example while you work on your desired set of gear. Or if you have friends or a LS you can give those people the materia you don't want but I'm sure everyone you know wants the exact same thing and are uberlicious hardcore. I think you just want the easy path to the good stuff.

Sheesh Another person that brings down FFXIV "namely Judah" How about another one of these threads? Give me something entertaining to read, instead of crying how its not up to YOUR standards. This Thread is " Personal Opinion" and " I know what I'm talking about this game sucks". That's what I get out of this thread on a "Personal Level". However I'm really starting to think as I read more and more into this, that the OP just wants attention, "as all trolls like". They attract attention, and once they have it.. they stick to the same point over and over refusing to see any other options available, but only to stick what only HIS opinion and screwing other opinions.

Each level of each materia have a multitude of variable qualities, making it so they do not stack.

By the way, Materia does stack with the same Materia... Cobalt Gauntlets= STR 14 X2= STR 28 I have on my hands. Just thought I do a little Clarification for ya

Quality of materials +1 and +2 are removed. Regardless, new developers still notice how ridiculous the sheer number of items there are in game and increase backpack size to 200. This is a bandaid to fix a much larger problem.

Bandaid fix? um.. I rather not HAVE +1 +2 in my back pack of the SAME Item... and so does alot of people that don't want that... Its an actual fix not Bandaid... :/. and btw the reason why they removed alot of the mats and recipes is because they are implementing a NEW one sometime between Feb~ April.

Materia is a new system with minor flaws. but the flaw you stated that " it doesn't stack with the same Materia". Which is entirely false because I can add 2 Strength Tier III's into my weapon. ( of course with risk) but the risk had no problem at all in trying.

Materials were taking out of a reason.. do you know what that reason is? GEAR OVERHAUL. In which when you do a "Gear Overhaul" You need New materials for said Gear, " in which there will probably be alot of.

There are reason behind their actions. You just fail to find them. "Look and you shall find"

And if you break them trying to meld 2 materia then you have 3 more inventory spaces open. All your worries are solved!

Materia is awesome, and is a fantastic addition to the game. They gave us twice the inv space because they acknowledged it would be a problem for a wile. So what? Deal with it. They are on a path to correct the issues in this game, inv space included. Fact is, we don't know what the solution entails for the inv problem, it could be some ingenious new UI. It could be crap too, but only time will tell. It takes time to develop software, live with it or move on and come back after 2.0.

I don't see genuine concern here rather than a complete lack of participation of the wealth of open info provided by SE. And a blatant attempt to enrage the player-base.

If you want to criticize the meteria system, you can do it without inflammatory catch-phrases. And if you don't like the game or have decided that a particular (imaginary) trend from the developers is too upsetting for you to remain playing in a game still in transition. Quit. Don't bother waiting for the next MMO to jump ship to (And thus complain about when it's not perfect.) If you're clamoring for something to do, go play a single player RPG for a while, build things in Minecraft or Terraria. Or *gasp* go out and actually participate in real life.

It's tiresome when each individual has to be on their own soap box when they're deciding to leave a game. If you're going to do it, just do it. There's a fine line between criticism with intent to help a community, and complaints wholly meant to be self serving. Working in customer service, you'd be amazed how often I find it's usually the latter, and the story doesn't change when the subject matter changes from cars to games.
