for me it always seem to be monk I will be using sam a bit to since it shares gear with monk and it is also fun

WHM is my favorite DPS
Larek Darkholme @ Ragnarok
Bard is hit and miss for me. Monk will probably be my last to 70, despite it being my job closest to a main until now (Bard close behind).
BLM, RDM, SAM, and PLD feel solid. (I mention PLD only because it's frequently outdpsing DPS if able to stay in Sword Oath through a boss fight, which... is easy to do when you're top output...)
Dragoon actually feels really smooth 58-63 with a 2.35 GCD, allowing for perfect re-application on Chaos Thrust and Heavy Thrust both. It won't be quite so well timed once I get double dragon weaponskills (5-step combos) though, and neither Mirage Dive nor the average level 70 output is looking inviting.
I think most of the com was starting with their main to 70 before trying out sam/rdm on high-lvl. I tried both on a statics friend account on mid lvl (around 65). Personally rdms playstyle fits me more than sam but thats just me wasnt able to connect on melee cls in this game at all. but I'll give both of them a second try after I got my 2nd cls' (whm/brd) up to raid niveau. One thing that really is heartening is that the replies have not been solely red mage and samurai. Players continue to love the other damage dealers and that's pretty awesome when you think about it.
Let's hear from more people. What damage dealer do you find the most enjoyable to play?
others (at least in my fc) avoid those two new cls' until the hype is gone for a more "realistic" experience than right now "wow sam overpowered!!!!111" etc. - we will see bout that if longtime parsing proved what everybody just theorycrafted yet.

Red Mage is super fun to play.

Despite the massive whining, SMN. Completely in love with this class.
Only 2 dots now, both have a duration of 30 seconds, DT resets tridisaster now (which further simplifes dot management), aetherflow cannot be cast under DT and should NOT be used when DT is ready, so you are encouraged by all means to burn DT, which I feel makes the job feel more enjoyable. No more spur, raging strikes and contagion trying to be aligned with a 60 sec CD tridisaster. Instant shadow flare.
And bahamut...! (and good damage).
SMN is just amazing.
Terribly disappointed with the SMN comunity complaining about stuff like "no longer sustain"... XD. I swear they should go and try DRG lmao.
Definitely Red Mage for me.
I really want to like Summoner & Dragoon but I don't enjoy neither of them as much as I did before.
I don't enjoy the new Summoner playstyle at all anymore.
And Dragoon feels a bit lackluster. They had huge potential but I feel like a lot of it got wasted.
Might try Black Mage or Bard. Maybe I'll even lvl my Samurai.

You rebel, you.
Certainly! There is a lot of both things happening. Some people want to try the new classes first, others hold off until everything is adjusted.I think most of the com was starting with their main to 70 before trying out sam/rdm on high-lvl. I tried both on a statics friend account on mid lvl (around 65). Personally rdms playstyle fits me more than sam but that's just me wasn't able to connect on melee cls in this game at all. but I'll give both of them a second try after I got my 2nd cls' (whm/brd) up to raid niveau.

I suppose there will be a later group of players who will come upon this thread and give their opinions. Now, I'm not concerned about the dps rankings. People shouldn't be using those parsers in the first place!![]()
I'm more wondering what damage dealers people really like. It's thrilling to read the enthusiasm players have for their jobs. Makes me wonder why SE doesn't release job t-shirts/jackets.![]()
