A PSA to all upset tank players

The worst part about this isn't even the completely lackluster and clunky gameplay, but more the complete lack of understanding by a good part of the community. People trying to voice their concerns and then a squad shows up trying to shout us down. Like... Okay lol

I'm not surprised at all, and you see it all the time- constantly since I've been on xiv, but it's still disappointing to watch you do it.

The new war is a lot more fun, not only do you do high damage in defiance but you're making a lot of decisions. Deliverance war wasn't anything special, it was the same bloodbath, overpower once or twice, deliverance with cooldowns and fellcleave/decimate while your healer either heals you at the last second or prays to god your cooldowns are up again for your next pull. It's not tanking, it's just people that play dps who chose warrior because they could pretend they weren't tanking.

This right here. It made warrior far more fun to play. What people feel as clunky, I think requires more planning instead. Plan ahead your moves for the mob. I love that change. I haven't had an issue with aggro personally, and if anything the changes made me learn to use warrior to its fullest, not just for damage, but for its tank stance as well. So I agree with you that its the people that play dps and chose warrior. Because as a mostly tank/heal main, I freaking love the tank changes.

Really though, it's my personal main gripe. I personally can't bring myself to play tank anymore after the changes and I wouldn't mind simply going:"Well, guess tanking just isn't for me." and moving on playing DPS exclusively instead, maybe with the odd healing here and there. Except then I have to wait in hour long queues because a great many people feel the same way.

Pretty much damned if you do, damned if you don't. And I hope SE is going to resolve that "somehow".

I agree. I like the healing changes alot less than the tanking one personally. I usually main SCH and I really miss the dps I used to be able to do. But I still run it, mostly cuz I love the class and HEY why not level SMN at the same time

Yes, leveling up PLD is more engaging, because it had a buff, but it's not because DRK and WAR got a nerf that they're sh*t in comparison.

You're most certainly wrong then. Since it's most definitely because PLD got a buff while DRK and WAR both got nerfed that DRK/WAR is considered so heavily lacking at the moment. The only people who even dare to claim otherwise are PLD mains who are of course more than satisfied with the current state of things when it comes to where the Tank jobs currently sit.
