You can even put to sleep, bind, slow, and heavy most single enemy FATEs outside of the biggest "you're definitely going to need a lot of people" ones. Before you could queue with chocobos out, I'd go into umbral ice, put the boss to sleep, heal myself to full with physic, have full MP, and then begin again.

Physic is gone from BLM though.
