If an item I have up gets undercut by 1 Gil then I make them pay. I undercut by tens of thousands. This isn't a fight for who can try to be first in line.

Pull out your coin purse and fight me!!!

I crash the market on Balmyng all the time, and I will do it for fun. Items go crazy pricing all the time. Think about all the noobs needing affordable gear. When I see iron boots selling at 70k, I throw dozens out at 10-15k till the price crashes hard. I undercut by 1k, 3k, 5k, or even 150k for katana when SB launched. I single handed my crashed their markets at the start, and I made a profit doing it. I manage my resources, so I never sell for a loss but I really REALLY enjoy crashing the market on these whiny 1 Gil undercutters.

May your money bags be forever empty.

Doesn't matter how much anyone sells anything for.

I would think that anyone that takes what happens on a market board in a game that has absolutely no consequences in real life seriously enough that they want to report a player for price fixing needs to log off the game and find something else to do for a while. That is a serious loss of perspective.

Even in REAL LIFE such activity is only punishable in specific situations, and having players try to manipulate the market can definitely be seen as increasing the complexity and gameplay value of FF14.

It's not even against the lore. We have numerous examples of NPC's committing murder to maintain their market dominance. I seriously doubt the governments of the FF14 fiction would even bat an eye at price cutting.

If you can undercut someone that extremely, it was likely overpriced to begin with. Either that or the player isn't selling at a profit, which means it's their loss anyway and is unsustainable, and therefore short-lived. No, it shouldn't be a violation, and I speak as both a player and a crafter.

I often wonder if these people who complain about undercutting would do well to pick up an economics book. Nothing fancy, just basics on supply and demand. Oh, and spoiler, the market board in FFXIV is a perfect competition.

If people are undercutting that severely, I'm buying that shit up and reposting it.

This too. When I see a major gap in the highest listing to the next, and I'm trying to sell it too-, I'll buy it and just add it to what I'm selling.

I undercut all the time. I'm not interested in playing the market for a profit. I just want to get rid of the stuff and it still gets me more than selling to an NPC.

If someone undercuts and they know it and the item sells to be resold at a higher price. That's a win-win they get paid and the buyer if the item sells again gets paid.
