Oh, it will happen. Eventually.
Some people will transfer off the congested servers. Other will stop playing the game for various reasons.
With no way for new characters to enter the congested servers, the only way the population can go is down.

It may well take time before their population goes down to stable levels, but eventually it will happen.

Your optimism is funny. I can assure you that it will NEVER happen unless Square Enix confirms it. All we get is a big arbitrary "IF" on the possibility of it opening again.

If you are claiming that it will never become not-congested.... you may want to use your "can tell the future" skill on something a bit more exciting than this.

The reality that people should be worried about is that as soon as Balmung and Gilgamesh become unlocked later on, immediately it'll get flooded and back to its capacity.

I want the damned placed locked. We can probably start a somewhat tight-knit community instead of millions of random people.
It needs to NEVER have a transfer for Balmung and Gilg again and ONLY be made to create characters. That's it.
Sorry, I like new faces and all but Balmung needs to even out and it's going to take a long ass time, as it should.

The real question is whether or not YOU are dumb or trolling. There was movie that I saw which makes a very good point. "When adults say forever, what they really mean is a very, Very, VERY long time." And furthermore, we're talking about a business corporation. Of course, they type some kind of vague, open-ended response on the possibility of the server re-opening again to give it's consumers a sense of hope. But... If you have been reading everything related to the reason why they locked the Congested servers in the first place, it's pretty safe to say that the servers will NEVER re-open again. And if they do re-open again, then... I owe you a soda.

Balmung is much trickier. Balmung's main appeal is its designation as the RP server. So the first step is to create a new server and designate it as the official RP server. In this situation, you have to take into account main appeal of Balming, basically what puts it up so high on the server market. Also, include the same incentives as the current new server bonuses as well.

I fully agree with this. SE needs to open a new official RP server.
