At risk of being snarky: You're comparing a lunatic who's cruelly killed hundreds of innocent folk without remorse to 'everyone who's ever done anything bad in their lives'? Understate, much?

Don't worry, I get why people are quick to defend her. The writers didn't spend all that time feeding us her whole life story for nothing, after all. It was designed to pull a few heart strings. But for me, it stopped there. Her tale would have been more interesting had she become a hero of the resistance in spite of her terrible past. Instead, she became a racist killer because of it. And now, I get to look forward to all the tropes she's destined to fill in future content.

Meanwhile, If Zenos had been the surviving psycopath, he might have become FFXIV's own Lu Bu, and content converting his crazy arse into an ally would have been nothing short of amazing I think. (But only if none of the quests were escorting him somewhere. That walk mode he's on... )

My feeling on Yotsoyu is that her survival will be used to say more about the nation Doma is and the nation Doma wants to become. How does it treat the Quisling?
On the wider front, as is the case when any regime falls, petty scores will be settled and some not so petty ones.

Kindness and compassion are things you learn from the people who care about you. So what do you learn when nobody cares?

I know that she did not have a easy life but bad things happening to you gives you no right to kill someone else. Especially since its still only a smart part of people that did it to her. Can I understand that she has hatred for such things happening to her? Yes. Does this mean that she should not be punished for these things? No. And please...done anything bad in their lives? She killed and tortured countless of people. We only saw a small amount of it but it was said that before she went to the people on the coast she did this inland too. Also lets not forget that she let someone else kill a friend just because he was going away from doma and after that she wanted that person to kill his parents..they did nothing! They are purely innocent.

Would you be fine if people in the real life will get away with stuff because they have a sad past? This is not robbery or not taking revenge on exactly the people that made her past horrible, she killed people only because they were born in this country. I am quite sure that you did not kill someone in cold blood in real life, otherwise you would not be writing. And since its a different time killing innocent people would normaly be a death sentence.

And the situation with the Tempered one are completely different. They are a lost cause that might call the primal back again since they are still under their influence. In a way they dont even exist as a free person anymore and the city states (not the scions) decided that it would be better for everyone if they put them out of their misery. If this is the right decision? Who knows but its not even comparable to the situation in Doma.

None of the recent city states have done anything comparable to her or the Garlean empire. They did not create a poison and experimented it on prisoners. They did not take villages apart or kill their people for no reason at all. They do not experiment on their soldiers to make them super soldiers. Do they make mistakes? Yes! But you will find no state in the world that will do everything right but there is a big moral gap between them and Garlemald and her. And even if later in the expansion we find out that not all of Doma is good, well thats just like real life. You will never have a group/race/state without bad apples in them. But those still does not give her the right to kill innocent people.

@EdwinLi: I can understand that such things happening when you are young can shape you in the wrong way but it still does not change the fact that it was her choice to kill all those people. I mean you will not let a mass murderer in real life free just because he had a bad past. You might understand them better but they still should be punished for what they did. So if her redemption is that she feels bad for it and still lands in prison for the rest of her life I would be fine with that (yet I still wonder how the heck they have survived it..both of them should have been bleeding to death from gun and sword wounds). If she gets a free pass because of it and work free at the end then I will just shake my head at this.

Mehhhhhh I loved the ending so much but they destroyed the shocking moment of Gosetsu and Yotsuyu dying. He got shot in the CHEST and HAD a GIGANTIC wall in his hand. He was shot.. I repeat shot... and Yotsuyu's crying somehow made him save her? How??? the damn wall would have killed them. That was honestly a huge shock for me.

Mehhhhhh I loved the ending so much but the destroyed they destroyed the shocking moment of Gosetsu and Yotsuyu dying. He got shot in the CHEST and HAD a GIGANTIC wall in his hand. He was shot.. I repeat shot... and Yotsuyu's crying somehow made him save her? How??? the damn wall would have killed them. That was honestly a huge shock for me.

I agree even if they somehow survived because the floor broke before the wall came down (how convenient) both of them were still badly wounded. She was slashed by a sword with the intent to be killed. (Strange how inconsistent they are with sword wounds..Garlearn soldier always die from a slash wound, and Meffrid too, yet Ysthola and her survive it?) He was shot not once but I think three times and was bleeding from the mouth. So even if they have survived the fall they should have bleed to death. They had no healers with them and water is probably also not really good for your wound.

Really maybe I am just salty that they are alive since my favorite character was killed just for drama sake and from an attack that we should have been able to avoid..and he stayed death. Yet people like these two are surviving something that one normally should not survive.

I mean, it's not as if it's impossible for someone to survive such scenarios. People can be cut open by debris and be buried in rubble and still survive after days laying there. Yotsuyu and Goesetsu are both survivors who have endured a lot in their lives already. Maybe Hien didn't strike with as much force as he thought he did given that the same slash he used to strike down Yotsuyu conveniently sliced her bullet aimed at him apart. There will likely be more to the story, I feel - and there's likely information we don't have as of yet. Much like how the people complaining about Zenos being shown as formidable in the expansion trailer didn't know the circumstances surrounding his character yet still saw fit to complain nevertheless.

Hell it could be him with Zenos' body. I mean our character and everyone else decided to leave Nidhoggs Eyes on top of the castle so they could do their singing routine so maybe we just decided to leave the body there too to hope someone else took care of it.

Nah, he's too short to be Zenos.
