Definitely not a good enough reason to change an entire class.

I had the opposite experience in normal halatali where the tank sprout didn't tank, he acted as a free flying dps and wouldn't target any mob aside from the one it pulled with its first hit. I spent the entire dungeon tanking the rest of the mobs and keeping everyone alive with eos while also dpsing them down (the tank would run off and kill/pull other things while i was tanking the current mob). The problem is not the class its the player, that's the case with a lot of these threads...
I had a similar issue today, only I was trying to tank as GLA on my alt as I wanna get into it more. It was Tam Tara and I got 2 ACN who both used Topaz carbuncles. I even told them that it's faster if they use Emerald carbies as they do more DPS, they didn't listen to me and instead focused their carbies on whatever I was voking. Jerks will be jerks. I just let them be as I knew it's gonna be over soon and I will never have to see them again. They still couldn't pull aggro from me haha.
This was not a scholar problem, it was a nasty player problem. The answer is not to nerf a class but to report a player. Why didn't you just vote kick them or leave?
This is a pretty awful idea, as you say tanks need the ability to practice as they level, EOS is a fundamental part of being a Scholar. Removing it would compromise on their ability to practice.
It sucks that you had this person in your group, but I think it's a social issue rather than a gameplay issue.
Whelp now that you know how to kick, all I can say is. Just next time be aware with your friend in discord and cut the cord on the healer being rude to you. Communicate in FC chat and let the tide go. Eos just mindlessly heals. Most of the time she'll pull aggro if the tank is not properly holding hate and there's nothing we can do. Except unsummon it but, then how would they learn? it would just go to me next and gg. o/ Anyways sorry that happened to you
