Mini rant about scholars and lower dungeons

This is a pretty awful idea, as you say tanks need the ability to practice as they level, EOS is a fundamental part of being a Scholar. Removing it would compromise on their ability to practice.

It sucks that you had this person in your group, but I think it's a social issue rather than a gameplay issue.

Honestly, if that tank had encountered a RDM, it'd be the same experience regardless. They can drop 480 potency in less time that it takes for a BLM to cast Fire 1. Tanking at low levels hasn't been great, but RDM just compounds the problem. Sucks about the guy dealing with the SCH, but he'll have the same issues holding mobs if a RDM is in the party anyway. Those enmity reduction skills aren't always up.

First off, I wouldn't call this a MINI rant. Just cuse I'm on mobile and it was larger than the screen of my phone.

I'm sorry that you had such a bad scholar. As a sch main myself this offends me. Whenever I'm in a lower level dungeon I bring our eos, let her be the healer and I pretend to be a 3rd DPS. It's true that it goes a bit faster this way, but I always make sure to never overstep the tank.

That was a bad scholar you found. And I hope this 1 person doesn't ruin what you or your tank friend think about the rest of us.
