Auto attacks can cancel dual cast. Go to a striking dummy cast jolt the auto attack. Youll lose dual cast immediately.

But you can stay in melee range as a rdm and never lose your DC is you use it immediately and dont wait. I tested both and you can successfully auto attack while doing your rotation.
