So starting with Shifu/Kasha really is preferable to Yukikaze? The Slashing debuff affects Higanbana and is a significant increase so why use one without it?
Also Yukikaze requires the least investment for one Sen that can be consumed with Hagakure. Getting that Sen back takes no extra gcd to refresh a buff that will have a good amount of time on it already, unlike Kasha's Sen.
1. WAR and NIN both have slashing debuff in their first combo. So starting with Shifu/Kasha really is preferable to Yukikaze? The Slashing debuff affects Higanbana and is a significant increase so why use one without it?

2. Slashing debuff only affects the first hit of Higanbana.
1) I don't mean if a WAR/NIN is in the party, Dervy's early rotation said to do it regardless.
2) That might explain it but I was under the assumption that DoTs snapshot the debuff as a buff to the damage like Vulnerability. I know even Dervy thought this at some point, unless something changed or theorycrafters realized it wasn't true.
It seems reasonable if it is true that the DoT portion of Higanbana is unaffected by the slashing debuff.

Looks like I might not have to do many tests of my own, after all! They probably have better tools and mathematicians at their disposal. However, I'm curious as to why they don't want to post here? Is it because they don't have any solid conclusive stuff yet, or...?
I'll update the front page with this, if they are fine with that.

One thing I'd like to add to the first post is the disengagement combo :
Yaten > Enbi
Yaten doesn't break combo as a matter of course but Enbi does. So if you're disengaging using Yaten mid-combo, DO NOT immediately use Enbi, finish your combo then use Enbi, I know that it's kinda stupid using the range combo at melee range but...
Im not sure, some of them might have the intention to post here. Its a huge discord for theory crafting of all of the jobs so there are a ton of peoples putting their heads together. I dont think anyone there would mind as long as proper credit is given, a lot of the information ends up being put on reddit by others. I tried to credit everything I linked. Ill also continue to look and pull in any resources I can get my hands on.Looks like I might not have to do many tests of my own, after all! Much appreciation! The goal is just having every resource available for everyone who aspires to be better.
I have a feeling that SAM is the new WAR. The job is good at everything, lul
Well, to be fair, that's probably MNK, minus the damage aspect. Now... if Third Eye stayed at 20% damage reduction, and Merciful Eyes stayed a 500 potency heal, then we'd definitely take that title haha.
