Don't forget Moenbryda, Hauchthrhehhchant and Ysalye death, albeit Moen was only met for a while.
But Unanamo w/e The Sultana one was incredibly stupid.

I think the use of the echo in this case is the foot in the door for it. Her circumstances don't excuse her behavior but I don't think she's had anyone who wasn't a garbage person around her until Gosetsu. So while her behavior until this point shows that she is garbage as well and would immediately stab Gosetsu in the back, I would 100% not be surprised if there's a heel-face turn in her future.
They won't be alive for long that is absolutely a Fugu he fished up there.
Someone hasn't been playing RPGs enough. If they aren't killed on screen, they aren't dead. No matter the odds.
Can we not George R. R. Martin our entire cast? Please. It works in GoT because we're numb to it by now.
I'm torn, honestly.
I think the way in which they handled Nanamo's 'death' was very cheap and contrived. On the other hand, I adored Yotsuyu as a character and I'm very glad to see that she survived. Given that she became cruel as a result of being treated horribly by the Domans I feel like there's a lot of potential left for her in terms of story. It certainly adds shades of grey to Doma's tale.
I will never understand why people require character death to consider the story good and dramatic, it's not good storytelling to have everyone die "for the feels" or because you dislike a character "when is <x> going to die???"
Go watch Game of Thrones if you want everyone to die. How broken does the warrior of light need to be before people are satisfied? They already have a broken heart, PTSD, and a noticeable fear of anyone pouring anyone drinks and being poured drinks by anyone ever.
Not to mention dark knights are literally such shattered people that their entire 30-50 story happens. If the warrior of light has to deal with /more loss/ how long do you think it will be before they quit? I would quit, they already show signs of wanting to be done with everything.
I didn't finish the ending yet but I was 90% this was going to happen... glad I peaked in.
Yeah. Characters need to die. We don't need to go crazy but damn... murder a hooker or two already
To be fair, whilst it can grow tiresome to see every other character perish it can also become troublesome if there's rarely anything at stake because everybody comes to know who is going to live and who is going to die. Some people want certain characters they happen to dislike to die, certainly, but there's also plenty of people who are very vocal about protecting specific characters to the point that they end up getting plot immunity.
Then there's the people who feel slighted because the characters they like are killed off but the characters they dislike are on screen very often. I don't envy the lore team's need to keep a measure of balance in that regard.
Louisoix dead horribly
Moenbryda very dead
Haurchefant dead horribly
Papalymo very dead
Ysayle dead
Minfillia most likely gone forever
Y'shtola is dying
The scions at the waking sands who i in fact made a point of talking to after every mission: dead horribly
Most of the characters you inspired to be like you over the story? Dead
Most of the adventurers you met early on? Dead
There is also the 1,000 years of death in Ishgard and the destruction of Doma. The fate of the first and thirteenth worlds the subjugation of every city in the empire, the state of all three main cities..
When has it not been made clear that the world /can/ suck?
