Dropping such high ranked gear though would render crafters obsolete, since everyone will just kill the weaker IFRIT for the gear. So not a good idea. :L

True. How about Rank 40-ish gear, as opposed to 45+ gear? Like Horn Scale Mail? That way, the lower level encounters still have some degree of value to them for the casuals, such as spiritbonding the armor for some Grade 2/3 Materia?

How about no reward since you aren't doing the fight at the appropriate difficulty? If you wanna kill him for fun, by all means, hack away.

But there shouldn't be any kind of reward for dumbing down the difficulty of a fight.

    I'm down with that.

Did read it, I appreciate what he says, but I feel as though the way he implemented the Ifrit fight did not really dovetail with his statements. Hopefully, after 1.21 it will shape up to be more in line. I will be patient.

Alright, it's about time for me to sign off for the night. I must prepare for the coming week, and I thank those who were civil and respectful in this thread.

And to our Moderators and GM's: I know I'm a tough customer on these forums, and I hope you'll be tolerant with me as you sift through this threadnaught for violations of the ToS. I believe that being open, honest, and flexible is important to building a long term respect for your supporters and detractors. Some people I may disagree with here on this thread, are people I still respect for their willingness to engage me on the issues presented in this thread.

And with that, I bid everybody a good night.
