    Idea to Prevent AFKers in PVP.

    Why not just make it harder for people to AFK in pvp as opposed to nerfing the xp?
    1. Increase how often I can kick people in PVP instances to once every 20-30 minutes.
    2. Auto-Kick players who are out of combat for more than 3-4 minutes.
    3. Give an additional amount of xp to 1st place teams and a smaller amount of xp to 3rd place teams.
    because if you don't do something to remove the afkers, people will still just afk pvp. The XP rate doesn't have to be amazing to have people afk-ing it. It just has to have people willing and able to AFK it.

    Let me know your opinions guys.

    Agreed. They're making it too easy for people just to farm exp and tomes but not willing enough to participate because they're too busy watching Netflix

    I can see why you'd want the changes, but it's a rough solution idea.

    1: Isn't too bad, don't need to be able to spam kicks but don't want to have too much time between either.
    2: This will ruin any sort of defense. You need people to watch nodes no matter the map you're in and sometimes they don't see any action.
    3: Will cause more toxicity, people will get pissed at one another even if all teams are trying because they wanna level quicker

    Adding exp to stuff like this is always risky business, from what I can see more people try than don't, I think the best thing we can do is votekick more often, hell, 5-10 minutes would be sufficient as it allows you to kick at least one afk'er per match

    If you regularly get kicked for AFK initiated by multiple people you should really be investigated too. Very exploitable by bullies, obviously, but it cannot be hard for the GMs to pull up your history and see your zero contributions over multiple games. Auto-kick after 3-4 minutes would be stupidly annoying though; the other teams can just run away from you and fight one another and your whole team will be demolished if they don't suicidally run in.

    Winning doesn't really feel all that meaningful now because you get showered in rewards even if your entire team plays terribly and comes last. Aside from the musical flourish and personal satisfaction, once you have all of the achievements you want what's the purpose in it? Slightly more Wolf Marks (which don't have any expensive rewards) don't feel all that exciting; I'd be happy to get a bonus to the other rewards (exp/tomestones) for a win. Rewards for performance exist in PVE.

    What about kicking people who stay in the spawn room for more than five minutes after the match has started?

    I don't know if they can make something like that work, but it's an idea.

    I just wanted to correct #2. You don't need anyone to watch ice nodes any more than you need someone guarding a base. Keep your map open. When an ice node activates, when your base is taken, or even when an entire enemy team is heading your way, you can see it all in realtime on the map. You can't see enemy players not in combat, or a ninja hiding (not sure they can even still do so), but nearly everything you need to see or be aware of is able to see on the map.

    The issue with this is you get throwers. people who run in, intentionally die constantly to end the match. they just need to nerf the EXP. keep pvp for pvp.

    By node I actually meant base, and in most pvp games it's wise to have at least one person guarding it. Not having any forewarning or even just one guy to fight off a ninja trying to take it can cost you a decent chunk of points for the 30 seconds or more you may potentially lose

    Not to stomp your idea for the sake of doing so... but instead of trying to work around an issue... just fix the issue.

    People are afk and lazy in PvP by the groups now (I've even joined in) ONLY for the exp. there's no other reason to bother with pvp unless you like it.

    Remove the massive exp boost. PvP shouldn't be your golden egg to level up in pve anyway.

    "Let's make all this content, new areas, fates, etc and have the players ignore it for PvP!" Is what they did.

    This needs to be fixed

    Across 2 or 3 matches last night, I spent a good amount of time taking down "base guards" and the maybe 2 or 3 people that might show up to help, then stealing their bases besides. . . in just a 3 man cell.

    Base guards are a bigger liability than an insurance.
