Disagree with thread title entirely. Admittedly I haven't gotten to the level cap and it might get better, but I just don't see it. Before SB, if I had buffs, I could get my Wildfire to around 13-14k. Buffed with Balance and piercing debuff I managed to max around 19,500. Today I tried and I couldn't break 7k with a Wildfire. My first one did less then 4k. With half of the ogcds gone the job is far less active. Refresh not being tied to the turret means there's no Hypercharging it to really help the healers out, potentially saving wipes. The job got dumbed down considerably, and is incredibly boring to play right now. I don't like the job at all anymore. If this is what we had to get if it meant getting away from gun mage, give me gun mage back. Being able to move and shoot isn't worth losing the fun the job had.
Get used to getting meh wildfires. Im at level 70 and wildfire is hitting for around the same damage as any other heated attack that crit, lol. I think they shifted the DPS away from wildfire and more into your heated attacks, and as usual, if fights where the boss does something that makes them invulnerable ( a good number of bosses this expansion at release) your rotation gets messy really quickly.
I'm not finding this to be true. All the fights are lining up for me perfectly, it just takes a little practice and understanding (For example: Knowing a dungeon will allow you to know when you can safely overload or blow up a turret). WF/RF/Reassemble are all 1 min recast, no way for them to get messy and Reload is 30 seconds so that shouldn't get messy. I'm pulling 11-12k WF's which are now more frequent and less stressful.

Reroled to BRD, MCH feels so dumb I can't even pay attention.
I am still at 60, thanks to the congestion
but it seem my dmg out put is lower than HW era
probably due to the change to wildfire, lose of all those pre SB cross-class
but it seem the change are to make us more sustainable DPS than the burst we use to be, I will see how it feel after reaching 70 unlocking all skills if I could even do any leveling dungeon
yet, I prefer the old MCN as 60 for now
What's your opener/wildfire rotation? Not 70 yet but I am curious to know if overheating every 2 mins (to line up with overdrive and hypercharge, and barrel stabilizer) with wildfire is the thing to do like I think it will be.
If you do overheat, do you overheat before pressing wildfire or after? If after what do you use to open your overheat window? Do you open with an overheat wildfire or do you leave that for your second wildfire?

Hot shot (Quick reload/barrel stabilizer) Heated Spit shot (hypercharge) Heated slug shot (Wildfire/Reassemble) Heated Clean Shot (Reload/Rapid Fire) Heated Split Shot (Rook Overdrive) Heated slug shot (Ricochet) Heated Split Shot (Gauss Round).
That's my openner.
Still don't have a way to wildfire with overheat (on purpose) in my openner.
Similar to old opener then. I feel like there has to be an application for overheating consistently. Otherwise, why line up overdrive, barrel stabilizer, and hypercharge so nicely @.@With 3 bullets and 0 heat

At the moment I see overheat as a 'I know I can AOE spam here and have gauge back up by the time I need it' or 'Boss will jump, it will cool down by the time he's down'. I don't use it as part of my normal rotation and can't see it having a place. I think a lot of fights are going to be tailor made strats with MCH. Sometimes you will overheat, sometimes turret sac, sometimes sit on it.
For example: One of the new extreme dungeons bosses has a 35 second transition phase. So you can both turret sac and overheat with no problem as they will both be back up before he's down, where as another fight does not.
