Tonberry always busy ?

5 hour queues at any time on any server for any reason are not ok. They are a failure of community management. The offers made are not enough and not TIMELY enough to enact the required change.

Japan is only an hour behind (AEST), so our peak times are essentially their peak times, unfortunately.

Unlike most everyone else, we're all mostly lumped together on Tonberry, which is why the server is getting hammered so hard. Bleh.

Oh and I'd also recommend staying on the server for the ping. It kinda sucks not being able to talk to people in instances and pvp 90% of the time...but based on my experiences in other MMOs, I actually think it's kind of better to not be able to talk to other players, heh.

As someone who has been on Tonberry for years I can confirm this queue is not normal! Being unable to create a character as they've turned off character creation is normal and if you want to create a new character you have to be online in the early hours of the morning. Like the OP I started life on a NA server but server transferred to Tonberry as a) the latency was getting me killed constantly and b) I heard there was a healthy population of Australians on the server. Normally when I login i'll see a queue of about 50 or so but you normally have to wait no more than 30sec for that to go away and the server to allow you access. I recommend to stick it out. They will EVENTUALLY fix these silly queues and it'll be worth it. Just don't be disappointed when you can't communicate with alot of the people you get grouped with as they don't speak English

This is the problem right here. Tonberry is the unofficial server for English speakers in the Oceanic area so SE telling us to transfer is both a waste of time and rather ignorant of the situation. A server in the Aus/NZ area would be a wonderful solution but it has not happened to this date and considering SEs relationship with Aus/NZ is practically non-existent, I would not be holding my breath in anticipation.

Meanwhile, I got DCed while trying to zone in to a PotD and staring down the barrel of a 4k+ queue. Looks like I won't be playing tonight. Again.
