I think you're just making fairly wild assumptions and it's just not that simple.

We're all frustrated, I get it, but treating this like some personal slight is very silly.

Ok but there have been so many times where things were clearly wrong, we got the "working as intended" response, and then they fix it later.

You have every right to say "Square, this is not working at all and you need to fix it or I will take my money elsewhere." But square isn't flipping you off and messing up their game on purpose just to make you mad. That would be beyond stupid and a huge financial loss for them. Take a second, breathe, and walk away for a bit. It's quite possible that with the amount of issues the game has, they are trying to bundle all the fixes as one big hotfix instead of 20 odd hotfixes.

If we were talking about a bug here that'd be true but we aren't, the cold steel issues are intentional bottlenecking due to server congestion. The server congestion has happened at every FFXIV launch, it's been acknowledged and ignored several times. I said this in another topic, but "Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by stupidity" only applies if they don't repeat the offending actions. Square-Enix know these problems occur when a new launch happens, and they refuse to rent additional capacity probably due to the cost involved.
