As someone who works in customer service I've lost the ability to feel sympathy for people. Sure, you paid money to play, so did I, I paid extra for the CE, so what? I pay money for a lot of things and while I expect them to work sometimes things go wrong; I'm old, I've learned to deal with it. These people demanding compensation and that people lose their jobs.. Holy crap, there are really people demanding someone LOSE THEIR JOB because they can't play a GAME? Don't tell me there's no entitlement on these forums because damn, I haven't seen so many babies in one place.. Well, like I said, I work customer service I have to give all the little babies what they think they deserve all day.

Don't get me wrong, you all have every right to be upset, hell, I want to play the game I paid for too! But the extremes people are taking it to is just inexcusable..



Personally I saw this coming and didn't take vacation until a few weeks after the games actually launches. Enjoying what little I can do immensely so kudos on what looks to be a great expansion.

Agreed. However, when people are left with nothing to do they often fill the void with dramatic complaint.

I also took vacation after launch to try and avoid this nonsense. I'll be starting vacation a week from now because I knew there would be congestion, especially being on a heavily populated server. Is it frustrating? Absolutely. Is it life-shattering? ....really, is it?

In some respects, absolutely. The servers came up on time and while there was some instability, SE seems to have mostly resolved that. Most parts of the game seem to work properly and I haven't encountered any real bugs yet. That there are login queues is a product of how many people are wishing to play.


However, even if it's not technically broken, the bottleneck that exists at Raubahn and Pippin makes the expansion practically unplayable. If it were just the MSQ, that would be bad enough, but all of our DoH and DoL are locked behind this as well, because you're limited to the first couple of zones by physical gates until later. This means that even attempting to occupy yourself with things like leveling crafters and gathers is relatively painful, as the XP quickly drops off, mats become unavailable, and you can't even get to many of the class quests. Somewhat paradoxically, I would say the launch overall has been quite smooth, yet the game remains mostly unplayable.

I agree. in addition to the above, I get randomly booted about every 20-30m, even if I am actively doing things (I always am). is there something whonky with their AFK Daemon? or are they doing it on purpose to give people more access chances? I dunno, but it is really irritating to get booted in the middle of a FATE, and come back to it over after you had to wait in queue for 10m, have the login server error out and kill the client, start it again and wait through another queue, to get back into the game for another 20-30m of playtime before getting booted again.

And it's random too. sometimes it may be up to 45m or so, and sometimes it's as early as 5m. but it's consistently there, and a real headache when trying to do any group content, even low level stuff like PotD.

I've been around the block, I know that expansion releases have issues. I think the frustration with this specific event is exactly what Nixxe states above. It's the fact that they lock so much of the content behind MSQ gates that are currently unaccessable by many. literally 2/3 of the content you can't even get to even if you just wanted to walk there and take in the sights. It's bad design. locking MSQ progression behind an MSQ quest, I could accept that. Locking most the game content behind a single MSQ quest isn't really acceptable.

I think you all need to learn some respect. Not everybody is experiencing the expansion the same way. Some have issues and others don't. I am not trying to take any side here, but we also don't need to hang the OP for their opinion and positive experience they might have had or still have. We understand everybody is mad, regardless how much someone might have paid. It still doesn't give you more rights than others, nor does it give you the right in general to just tell people to stfu if they don't agree with you.

There are 1000000000+ topics about the negative experience, and if you're still at the point were any positive opinion sends you off the next cliff, just stay out of the topics and take a breather. All of us are not going to help the problem, if we yell at our own members of the community, forcing GM's to take action and run the ban hammer through topics. This time can be spend on something more important, for example finding solutions to existing problems. OP is clearly not your enemy so you might want to let that go.

@OP I am glad you're enjoying the current content and I am glad you shared your story about that. At least it does show that some of us, can enjoy something after all.

Quite honestly Square-Enix should be embarrassed and ashamed with themselves on this. They don't seem to learn their lesson about anything. This is why Beta testing is required but they still insist on having their own people test things and not actually strain or stress servers. Honestly people are stressed the **** out and actually thinking of canceling their subs over this (and yet they are having a campaign to have people sub which is a joke in itself). But SE's lame half assed reply which I will simplify to "Nothings wrong just keep trying" isn't really a legit answer? Do they honestly think this is an acceptable answer or do they just not care about their clientele?

i have contacted SQUARE support asking for some form of compensation. i was never told that this was a possibility. They could tell by presales how many people would be logging in, and they were ill prepared for it. That is not my problem. My credit card payment went through as expected, but i cant play the game as expected, and i should be compensated for that.

Purchased a couple of jumping potions to get up to speed. A ton of EXP Lvl 50 and below quests have my Samurai nearing Lvl 51 and the SB sidequests got me to WHM 61. Only class I've yet to unlock is Scholar. But I'm now hunting monsters I've never hunter before and done quests that I have never done. It's great to now make the other quests effectively monster slaying practice for the SB content.

They should sell Jump Pot: Best Served With Cold Steel for 25$ on Mog Station they will make a fortune for their greedy pockets. How about sinking the cash shop money into the game like SE said it would and not other SE titles

Silence? Seems to me Yoshida-san and co. has been communicating quite a bit. It's not clear how much more open you want them to be nor why.

And no one is playing the "entitled" card. Why are you so riled up?

There's a big problem. We all agree on that but why can't you be a little patient and let them fix the bottleneck issue?



Do you prefer all the salty poster screaming they want service now? C'mon.

Let's wait and see how long it takes to implement a fix. If it takes too long we certainly have an argument for compensation.

In the meantime, do something else. The less people clicking on Raubahn and Pippin the better.

Did you miss the posts where people are saying they can't get in the game at all, or at best have to wait hours. Or those people who have got the error which completely locks them out of the game and have been told this could take days to fix?
