lol you are blaming SE because you called out of work for this? Please shut down the game and fix it.
I have been playing with Raubahn for over 20 hours. 20 Hours. I missed 16 hours of work for this. $200 in opportunity costs. I am at the end of tether. Fix it, or you can lose my 400-500 dollars that you would be getting over the next two years. I haven't opened my copy of Stormblood yet, and I can easily return it.
You really do need to sort out your priorities
What people do with their free-time and lives is up to them ultimately. As far as priorities it would seem that this individual values his/her hobby over an extra few hundred dollars. When you really sit down and think about it, isn't that great? This person is in such a good position with their lives that they can afford to lose out on money. People have every right to be angry about miscommunication or lack there of. Just as you have a right to showcase your "priorities" here on these boards as you just did by needlessly replying to this individual in such a negative manner. None of my business though right?
I didn't 'call out' of anything. If I was merely calling out, then I would know the game was in rough shape.
You see, I requested Paid Time Off. That means I am still getting paid to do what I want. What I was doing was putting a price on my time.
No one likes wasting time.
Or you can... I don't know, do something else? It's on you to stand at the npc and hope to get lucky. I try for a bit, can't get through, then go fate on SAM (while waiting on duties) or level a craft, or whatever. The game is still going to be here in a week. Or you can continue what you are doing and cry at the npc.
The problem with that is people are randomly getting booted from the server for trying to do other things.Or you can... I don't know, do something else? Yesterday, I was booted while just standing around at our FC house; I was literally doing nothing except re-organizing my skill bar, and I got booted.
Point is, these issues are unacceptable.
"Just cause you are divided by an LCD screen, 10000miles of copper wire, and 20 feet of radio waves, it doesn't mean you have an excuse to be rude."
Unfortunately there are loads of us who can't play the game. Our options at the moment are as follows:Or you can... I don't know, do something else? 1) Start a new character from level 1 and spend $50ish USD to get back to SB
2) Same as number 1 but don't buy the potions and spend the next however long replaying the entire game.
3) Quit FFXIV.
We have NO other options. We can't load in on our mains, and this was their response to this that shows really what our options are at present:
Greetings,
Thank you for reporting this concern. We understand that it's incredibly frustrating to be unable to access your characters during Early Access, and deeply apologize for this inconvenience.
We have confirmed this issue with the development team, and they are putting high priority on continuing to investigate how to resolve this for players.
At this time, it seems that the situation will require a resolution via the client itself (through updating the version). As such, we expect it to take more than several days to resolve this issue, including the time required to create the patch.
However, because this error is not caused by the corruption of local data or due to a PC issue, it is likely that re-installing the game will not resolve this issue.
Again, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience. We'd also like to note that if you continue to attempt to log into the game there is a chance you may be able to log in, so please try again after some time has passed.
So, tell me again how this is a good thing for their players to "Do other things in the game" when we can't even get in the game to Fate, craft, gather, or even just socialize because our characters our basically locked because of the primal error.
What about all the people who did get past this (stupid) bottleneck. I for one can play the game fine (after hours of annoyance at Raubahn). Shutting down the servers does nothing for these kinds of problems.
Life's a game, gaming is my life.
Quite Right. I mean why should we let others have equal standing ground, while those that won the RNG lottery have an advantage over tomes, levels, gil, and items. How about trying to think about someone other than yourself?
Also, I myself got past that endeavor, but I am still in favor of the servers being down while they implement some kind of real fix.
