What got me was the removal of all DPS damage over time skills. Isn't maintaining a consistent/constant output of damage what DPS does?
A) I don't game nearly as much as other people do, I do work for a living.... so I have only a fraction of an understanding of what you just said there....Also that shouldnt be possible as OW mobs dont hit as hard as dungeon trash, hes at level 47 so he has access to fire 3 and f3p with swift cast and manaward giving him.a shield up to 30% of his max hp
The lose of raging strikes shouldnt have impacted him that level especially with a chocobo.
Im mostly worried about this "play style" of yours as blm only has 1especially as sub level 50. Shield with mana ward, buff with fire 3 kill with fire 1 and st dot with thunder three or multi dot with thunder 2.
Also mp cost shouldnt be an issue considering UI 2 restores 45%? Per server tick.
B) That still doesn't account for the inability to heal massive amounts of damage taken when a BLM pulls aggro off almost everything just by casting Thunder 2.
? Blm has thunders 1-4 DoTs, Smn has Bio 3 and miasma 3, Sam has hagane, Bard has both DoTs, Drg still has its DoT, i think monks demolish is still a dot (correct me if im wrong)
Uh, lag running and dropping off the side of bridges trying to get to places.... normally. Nophicas well is one area I can think of off hand. Oh, the cliffs there in Coerthas beside dragons head (just west of there) is another.
Ah but we LOST thunder 1, remember? Not to mention everyone else lost the cross class skills. All bonus skills that could have crossed from marauder to archer, no longer exist. Or say using flash on a lancer or pugilist to try and save the healer? No more.
Mage spells didn't change. Each different fire/ice spell do different things are weren't consolidated for that reason. But there is literally no reason at all to use thunder 1, stone 1, etc if you have a better version available. If you were doing so, you were doing something horribly wrong and were hurting your dps quite badly.
Ok. I work for a living too (RN)
A: Black Mage specifically should easily be able to outpace the damage it takes due to astral fire 3 (the 3 red orbs) buffing blm damage by 80%. Blms 180 potency fire 1is actually 180*.80 meaning fire 1 is 324 potency which is alot. Umbral Ice (the blue orbs the blm MUST ALWAYS GO INTO after fire phase) restores mp by a hard % every 3 seconds.
Drain scales off of int so its more potent that physick which scaled off mind which you had almost none of.
When a mobs close to death mash drain in umbral ice state to gain hp and mp at the same time.
Pre-update Ice 1 hit with heavy, stone 1 did the same, they took that away with the later skills. I had just gotten to the level to use Stone 2, and no heavy. If I hit something from a distance, I like for them to be slowed so I get a chance to kill them before they get to me and start dealing damage. Now, with a lack of the thunder 1, I lost that extra MP saved by using it (107MP cost at my level I think, to a 603 cost now on 3?) and have to transpose more frequently than the 12 second cooldown would let me.Mage spells didn't change. B blm pulling off a single thunder 2 cast means either you have no tank, no healer or if one of you are a tank youre not doing it properly. Even if both of you are dps aggro should jump back and forth generally. If the blm pulls pop manaward, it protects your hp, pop sleep, it puts enemies to sleep up to level 50, use Freeze (lvl 35 aoe) it binds target to the floor
