I support this. It would be nice to have some better/fun leveling options. I would like to get a couple crafts and a gathering class to 50, but it's such a tedious process at the moment.

This idea has actually been brought up before, and even the idea of combined instance dungeons. It would be nice to see a dungeon designed to have say, four battle classes to clear mobs, keep mobs in their place, etc. and then a couple crafters and gatherers grabbing items and crafting to sort through dungeon puzzles. Of course because of people having multiple 50s I think a "class lock" for the instance would help to keep the challenge in place.

Of course all these ideas need to be fleshed out a bit more, but I think the premise of this is a great idea.

No, what I was referring to was a system put in place to lock people to classes once inside the dungeon. To prevent people from steam-rolling content.

Scenario without class lock: Everyone goes in as battle classes, changing at certain points for crafting/gathering.

Scenario with class lock: Four battle classes, two gatherers & two crafters are required to enter, once inside classes are "locked" so as to prevent changing and steamrolling.

Like I said this is by no means a perfect idea and would need to be fleshed out, but the principle I think remains interesting.

I knew what you meant, I was just being snarky
I would be against any type of 'class lock' because it would open Pandora's box for them to do this on everything. Then what would the point of the class/job system be? You can change, only when you're not in combat and not in a dungeon? Might as well put a Mog House in and have us change there!

    Thumbs up for Mog House

Not necessarily though. No one said this had to restrict all instanced content, and I think they're doing a good job with giving some diversity to their instances. Darkhold vs. Ifrit are two different entities, there's no reason they couldn't do this as well. I know what you're saying though, if SE can do it, they either won't, or they'll go overboard.
