[Question] Does Au'ra get special dialogue from NPCs? (such as during Ninja quest?)

That's an artifact caused by not future proofing that dialogue though. The real reason Yugiri is wearing a disguise is because Au Ra models weren't ready yet. The real weird thing is that she doesn't comment on you being a Ninja until way latter.

What frustrates me most is that there are any of a number of reasons she could have been hiding her identity, but they went with race in spite of the fact that it would fall apart as soon as Au Ra were added to the game. Ugh.

As for not noticing you're a Ninja... well, of course she wouldn't know. Half the job of being a Ninja is hiding the fact that you're a Ninja, and since you're the Warrior of Light, You can assume that you're an EXCELLENT Ninja. All the more so if you're dressed head-to-toe in ninja blacks and packing paired katanas and STILL manage to convince people that you're not a Ninja.

At any rate, aside from cases where the player character is obviously a Ninja, is there any particular reason that Yugiri should immediately recognize someone as being Oboro's student? I didn't get the impression that they were that close, or that Oboro would need to keep Yugiri updated on every apprentice he takes in...

I think she does notice it later. Ninja came with 2.4 and the next time Yugiri sees you she comments on your ninja training if you have one.

Speaking of special dialogue, there won't be any for those who play as highlander?
Since we're going to Ala Mhigo, I thought there would be at least exclusive dialogue for those who play as Highlander.

Hyur are everywhere though. Just because you're a Highlander, it doesn't mean you're Ala Mhigan. If Ivalice turns out to be (as I think it will) the southern part of Othard that is still covered in clouds on the map, then I may well headcanon that my dude is from there.

What happened with Sidurgu and his fellow Au Ra in Ishgard occurred over 10 years ago, so I think it's reasonable to assume the Ishgardians might've done some research and educated themselves about them in that time (Though probably mostly due to them thinking they could be a recurring threat).

Their lack of a harsh reaction to Alaqa would suggest as much (They simply refer to her as a foreigner), plus all those Au Ra in Idyllshire likely would've had to have passed through Ishgardian-occupied territory to get there.

I'm thinking maybe we'll learn more about this in SB, considering that Adkiragh is apparently going to be involved in some manner of sidequest (I'm betting on him being the next custom delivery NPC, personally).

The current Khan guy refers to you as a Xaela and its your nature for being there in the msq. One of the npcs early also says something about that but I skipped almost everything else so I'm not sure for the rest. So if anyone who read the non cut scenes please let this thread know any other mentions.

Well way I see it some dialogue gets adds and some don't especially if the character isn't recognized such as when the gold saucer boost event took place and if Godbert recognizes the WoL. If so he will address them by name if not the that part is left out. Same thing I don't get with magitek mounts and this expansion. Why don't npcs think I'm Imperial?

I only noticed two instances of obviously Xaela-specific dialogue in my Azim Steppe questing so far, which was a food vendor remarking that your parents surely had to have made what she was selling before, and you'd know how good it tastes already, and a certain someone mentioning that whether you were born on the steppes or not, your forefathers would be proud of you for undertaking a particular trial.

Wonder if Raen have anything specific to them in the Ruby Sea.

I did find it odd, however, that they speak as if all Raen fled under water, when Sui-no-Sato is exceptionally tiny and so many Raen live and work in Kugane, not a one of them mentioning living under the sea.

Stormblood had the first instance of a cutscene that openly acknowledged my character being a healer, demanding that I help aid in actual healing, but from what I've seen and read otherwise, you're race and job is barely noted.

maybe they were banished like yugiri? I thought I would get a special dialog too as a Raen char. I was also disapointed that Xeale had many tribes and their lands are vast compare to the Raen (a small little village).
