I can still barely stomach the price of gears with emote stretching the line really thin, but Thal's balls the price for furniture... Especially the past seasonal event ones.

Which, like XI, should offer previous years event items for GIL, not RL money.

They did it that way in the beginning, then they moved it to the kupo store. Ideally I think we should have both options, allowing players to buy it in-game via gil (or seasonal currency) the next time the event comes around AND via cash through kupo stores for those who don't wish to wait or simply like to show support financially to SE. That's just my personal opinion though.

I'd suggest that consumable items such as dyes or potions should be character specific. Everything else emotes, mounts, gear of any kind, hairstyles, minions, furniture, etc... should be account wide. The one exception to this would be Fantasia. Fantasia used to be account wide, then without a drop in price it was made character specific. I believe that Fantasia should be sold in two varieties, account wide and character specific. The character specific should be half the price of the account wide - which should be set at the current price.

A two tier pricing system would work well, but for that SE needs to get real about the prices of their items. The price of outfits on the Mogstation rival the purchase price of full game, if these prices were raised for account wide items, I do not think there would be many takers. On the other hand if current prices were frozen for account wide and a lower price for character specific, I think SE would see a fairly good uptick in purchases from the Mogstation.

Event items should be available in-game for gil the following year. But after the event closes, items from the prior year, should then be made available on the mogstation. this way, players have two chances to get the items in-game before they go cash-shop.

Cash Shop's manager is farming us!...

Now, seriously talking I don't see a reason why they don't make anything on the Mog Station account-wide, it's not like the best FFXIV players will buy the same item one by one for all of their characters so, SE, get rid of the limitations and make everything account-wide, that's all that keeps me from buying some nice things that I would use once or twice before forgetting about them, oh, and the ridiculously high prices too!...

I'll add my voice to this, because gear and emotes should be account-wide, not character-specific.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

Agreed, there are several things I would buy from MogStation if they were account wide rather than character specific. But, not if the price suddenly inflated.

I mean, let's be honest, SE could implement a two tier price on everything with the current price being for account wide and half that price per character tomorrow and it wouldn't cost them a dime. In fact, I think it would boost their MogStation revenue by a pretty healthy margin. The simple fact is there are a lot of players who refuse to pay the current prices for character specific purchases, but would be interested if they were account wide. By creating a half price single character option for purchase, SE loses absolutely nothing, and in a single stroke makes the entire MogStation more attractive to players who otherwise would not be interested in it.

To me, that seems like a win/win.

    +1

It would be better without cash-shop, especially events items but if they want to keep the cash shop, clearly, I agree with the OP, skins, minions and similar stuffs need to be account wide.

I don't purchase in the cashop because of the character restriction.

Retainers are already something weird in a game with monthly fees.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

That's a point of view that limits their market, and their revenue.
