Eh, I got no issues with it - I have subscription going all the time, even tho I might not even play during those times.

Same Ive never once dropped my sub even if I'm not playing much. I just meant since the rewards now only last for the campaign rather then being there all the time like Vet rewards. I don't mind either system, doesn't affect me at all.

Considering some people feel they are "forced" into being (bad) mentors to obtain a mount that is meant as a reward for people that truly do want to help via the mentor system, I am not surprised by the negativity of being "forced" to sub for 90 days at a time for another mount.

Nothing bad will happen if you miss out on it.

From the sounds of it this is a great way to keep people subscribed instead of just subbing for a month and leaving the game for 4 months

It reached a point where the length of time for those rewards was absurd. Someone picking up Stormblood today wouldn't see the Squall outfit for four years. If that continued, some items would be completely unobtainable as the game likely wouldn't last as long as the requirement for anyone who wasn't playing at release. Keep in mind, Veteran Rewards was never just a thank you to long term players. It was meant to incentivize maintaining your sub indefinitely. That incentive is lost when the rewards are so far off you may not even remember them.

Time-limiting rewards are not better and arguably are worse because while with the current system, it is possible for someone to get the reward, the new promotion will make it impossible.

I think it good that there is stuff like this in the game that reward loyalty and staying subbed instead of people that just sub on major patches then unsub again. If person feels they are forced to play or keep sub going sounds more like a personal problem and should ask themselves why they playing the game.

My chief worry is I'll be left out of this campaign since I recently signed up for the 180 day subscription to save money on my sub.

A player that drops their subscription and only plays in short bursts whenever a new content patch goes live isn't likely to be as invested in such acquisitions.

Translation : The game is not repetitive as hell, we're just playing it wrong ?
