To summarize, you get a flying mount for subscribing for a total of 90 days during the promotional period.

I can see this as an answer to people stuck behind, in some cases, years of subscription just to get the later veteran rewards.

But, I see a possible downside to this as well.


With this system, it's possible for someone to completely miss out on it, and never have the chance again.
While with veteran rewards, they will always be available, just time gated.


There are ways to mitigate this...
Possibly doing the promotion more than once...
Adding it to the cash shop later down the line...


But I feel it is a concern that's worth bringing up.
Even though I have no plans to lapse my subscription.

Well people complained about the old veteran reward system so they changed it. Guess they can't have their cake and eat it too.

Like you said, there is nothing stopping them from adding it in later as a mogstation item, but I think that would defeat the point of the campaign.
I actually like this new method, it keeps things fresh and still allows you to get some kind of reward for subscribing, even if you cant stay subscribed for years at a time.

There's certain minions/mounts people will never be able to get unless they, purchase all merch. Watch all streams, and played since 1.0, or even promotional events (nimbus cloud and WFC) so I guess this will be another to add to that list for some people.

This is my concern too as I currently have 165 days on my sub.

Here's what I got from the live letter. The campaign starts, your next active subscription will start applying to the campaign from the date the campaign begins. So if you subscribe for the next 90 days you get the campaign item. If you paid for 90 days already and are in the middle of your current sub, you'd likely have to wait until that sub ends to begin the next (which is how it works now).
But, If you buy or extend your subscription during the campaign, it will apply the new subscription time automatically towards the campaign. Meaning you could get the item immediately if you pay for all 90 days upfront.

Its basically exactly the same as it works now with veteran rewards, just shorter campaign time-frames.

not everyone needs to get everything ether if you get it cool congrats but if you dont all well its not important to you story/progression therefor its optional
