If anything, I'm more in favor of "tail pockets" as you described. Implement actual tail armor, it only makes sense miqo'te would try to protect their precious tails (and not try to chop them off like you would).

Please refer to the Q&A question #3.
I am hoping this isn't the case. There's plenty of QOL things SE take a while to get around to, so I am hoping this is one of them. And if it makes a lot of players happy (which it would I believe), I think it's definitely a good addition not just subjectively, but objectively somewhat too.
Down the leg of my pants? "Glamoured" to be invisible? Or just to be a tailless Miqo'te or Au Ra? Do all real life cats have tails? Some have lost them. I mean who cares if it's not clipping. XD The "should" be visible is subjective. Just because we have them they should be visible? That's not quite logical. If you're wearing a robe it can totally be underneath the skirt/dress of it. Adjustments to new gear doesn't fix the clipping with already existing gear. And trust me, I notice the clipping because I'm zoomed in enough to see it, I don't play super zoomed out. The clipping is definitely worse than letting us just toggle them off. Would it bother you to see me with my tail toggled off as much as it bothers me that a glam I want to use clips really badly with my character?

Bald heads should be a hair option. But when it comes to toggling feet and hips, these are essential body parts we're talking about. It's not comparable lol. The tail can just be "stuffed down your pants", it's not like it's actually gone. xD
I'd be in favour of this if it didn't mean SE would have to do a ton of remodeling work - which means they won't do it. (And if they're not as hideous as in that image in my OP.) We need a solution that will fix the clipping universally, not just for upcoming gear. And like I said - not necessarily "chopped" off. You can imagine where it went. Chopped off, birth defect, tucked down your pants, glamoured to be invisible (glamour prisms are tricks of the light after all), whatever you want to imagine.

How about an option to toogle off the shield arm of PLD? The arm can be hidden inside of the shirt.
Like I said, you can change to female Miqo'te if tail clipping of the male tail is too strong for you. Or ask the devs to change the design of the male tail. But a Miqo'te without a tail is not a whole Miqo'te anymore. It will be a handicapped Miqo'te, a shadow of itself.

Hmmm... A race which is defined by his incisors, his cat-eyes, his cat-ears and last but not least his tail.
Mmm I understand it is not a nice "sight" seeing a clipping tail, but toggling on/off the tail while a cat is defined by this factor (the tail); is wrong in my opinion...
Same goes for Au Ra with their horn parts. If we get now a toggle for tails, this will definetly cause another topic about toggling horns for Au'ra since the clipping there is even worse.
The example you showed with the stiff tail in that (chimerical felt) mage suit, I think they should never do something like that again. But else, just try to ignore the tail-clipping maybe?

You are *truly* contributing with such an intelligent suggestion. But please, keep your suggestions to yourself, otherwise I'll have to keep feeling inferior to your intellect!
Edit to your edit: Female Miqos have clipping just as bad to me, and I want to stay a male Miqo'te. I'm being very clear the only solution I'd be happy with is a toggle. In my head-canon, I'd still have my tail even if it's not visible, it's just tucked away. So shadow of a Miqo'te I'd not be.
I would happen to be for a hornless option for the Au Ra too. But after all, this isn't going to make all Miqos suddenly tailless. How is it "wrong", exactly, to not see a Miqo'te's tail because they have it under their caster robe? Defined by our tails? Really? lol
And no, I can't ignore the clipping for the gear it is present with. It just bugs me too much. Trust me I've tried.

I wont deny that you are also right with that, it shouldnt matter true. But think about when we get Viera for example (if we ever get it). Their Rabbits tail + their ears would basically clip through everything (some exceptions for sure). Toggle them off and voila you got a basically an Hyur. (exaggerated)
Hmm. I think it is more right to say that everyone has other QoL priorities. While I think many of us enjoy designing and glamouring our characters, I think, many dont care about the "back" of our characters. I mean, you check the face, the chest.. so basically the front; especially when making screenshots (which is still argueable I know).
In any case, I dont see this as a huge problem right now... Hence I would prefer other QoL options like glamor log or actually adding more options to the character creator. And a toggle will definetly not be a solution for the root of this problem (which is clipping in first place).

Maybe they should ask those guys and girls that worked on FFXI, what they did to solve that problem with Mithra gear. I get that "apparently" they have a small crew, but this is no longer an excuse to cut corners. They need to start making gear set that conforms to the races physical appearances. It's 2017 Yoshida, cutting a 2 inch slit on a robe to fit a tail through, arrrrrrrgghh....
Is it reset Tuesday yet.
I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.
