Who is jumping ship once they start charging in November?

I've gotta say...I changed my mind lately about jumping shit. I'll stay and support the game till at least 1.22. The game is fine now and the next two patches seem like they'll be great.

So FFXIVCore's own, self-promoting admin is throwing its users under the bus. What an unexpected paradox.

I was not self-promoted. Zyuu left and I replaced him, and even then, I don't even "run the forums" overall, Curse does.

And this isn't "throwing users under the bus" it's fact and common sense. Personally I'm not a big fan of the fact that we have to pay so soon, but if it's help to improve FFXIV, Great.

But here's the thing polls will be differnet on the other forums because it's as the guy pointed out. They can only look at the forums ( I'd imagine they can't like nor can they post if they're not playing) and people that ARE playing can 'vote'. It's not a surprise that the result here is very different than the result on the other forums.

If you think you're leading a community of miscreants, the majority of whom only show up to your site to troll FFXIV players who haven't figured out how to log into the Lodestone, then why even bother with a place like FFXIVCore in the first place?

Your community has expressed that it doesn't want to pay a subscription, and you're acting like "your people" (if they only knew...) don't care about FFXIV. There are trolls on every site, but trolls shouldn't be able to score the majority vote.

Why aren't you bringing up these concerns like BG does to SE rather than coming here to say that the opinion of those outside the Lodestone don't matter? Don't you realize your relevance that you take pride in comes from those very people whose majority opinion you're trashing?

The people that don't play FFXIV can't post on this forums, and therefore, can't participate on this forums, including voting on "polls". Many of them feel that it's too soon to pay for FFXIV. That's the general consensus.

I just can't get past that you think that the only poll that matters is the one here, such as it is:

Right. Poll Results are skewed in the first place. The forums are generally somewhat more accurate because only people that are currently playing and have an active account can post here, and I'd imagine being able to like posts as well.

Polls on other forums don't even take consideration whether the person is even playing or not. if they're not playing why should they answer?

It may surprise you to learn that not everyone likes posting here. They may prefer the moderation style elsewhere or they already have an established circle of friends from other games like FFXI that a fan site also supports.

But you certainly don't show up at a FFXIV fan site because even though you don't want to play, you love logging in to skew poll results. At least, there wouldn't be so many they would actually win the poll.

There are a lot of people who want to participate, want this game to succeed, but don't feel it's worth investing in right now. This appears to be a consensus across fan sites, and I can't understand why it looks like you're taking the position that the opinion of fan sites don't matter because they can't tell who's played in the last month or not.

Those people are potential FFXIV customers and the lifeblood of your site.

In all honesty, neither poll really matters, unless SE makes a poll where the 620K people that dont play actually vote in, then that would meter, a few thousand here and there are as irrelevant as your discussion about who is a troll and who is not <.<

forgot that you can also make more account to vote and you can vote on zam,core, and everywhere else unlike here you need a account to even log in so it accurate. I do agree a lot of players are leaving but a lot more are staying just due to the fact the game is good enough and they waste to much time playing it.

Even the players who said they leaving how much you want to bet they be posting here once p2p comes? i bet a few would

the game has been free all this time because even SE them self said it was not worth a sub. now we still don't feel it is worth it and we get you guys making accusations , that we just want to troll, we don't like the game, we are not fans. this is reason why people go to other forums. you make absurd accusations we can make them back with out post getting deleted because of indisputable harm to SE. yea apparently saying the game is not worth paying in its currant state does that and we are getting banned, and our post are getting deleted.

those of you making arguments these other sites don't matter are idiots. everyone who bought this game can still log in if they wanted to. you know the game is still free... they chose to reply on forums where their opinions don't get deleted and everyone is aloud to post.

argue this all you want but the majority is outside this Little box here in these forums. and if they truly thought this game was worth paying a sub for they would post, but sense most people don't care, waiting for 2.0, or just wont ever buy a SE product again, post on forums where they can say what they please.

@Amy i thank you for what you are doing the other fans that are not playing appreciate it even if they do not see it. i like them probably just waiting to see what happens or will just look somewhere else. my suggestion is to let this argument die because no matter how much sense you make they will come with a opinion that they think justifies right to over shadow your OPINION. just let this thread die off the majority have spoke and personally this game will get what it deserves in the end, and so will all the players wishing 'the people who just really want the game to be better', to leave them in their sandbox alone.

no point in showing them how to build a castle, they are happy with digging holes.

i am going to go back to these other sites where my opinion may not really matter... but at least i feel its heard.
