Who is still fickle-mind about Main Job?

I'm guilty of being fickle.

Unless the WHM changes are amazing, I'll probably be leveling either AST or perhaps RDM in Stormblood. I'll eventually get them all to 70 (I'm all 60 right now) but... still having trouble deciding between RDM/AST/BRD/BLM or maybe SAM which of those I will main.

I can't decide myself. At the moment I use ninja/summoner, or bard. Have BLM as a sentimental favorite, hoping to get back to that. Then there's the new ones as welll.... will stay open minded until I get to try them all out.

How could anyone even know their main before actually having tried playing the jobs?

I started playing a few months ago as Dragoon, and I have no intention to switch my main class yet at this time. Though I do have Paladin level capped as well, and I'm currently working on a White Mage. I'll probably level both of those classes to level 70 in Stormblood once I've completed the story and geared up for raiding on my Dragoon.

As for the new Stormblood classes, perhaps I'll check out Samurai once I've finished with my Paladins and White Mage. But I still have to choose between doing that and leveling a Summoner for ranged DPS.

Been a NIN main for so long that like you I have the muscle memory down pat. DRK comes in a close second and is arguably my favorite job, I just don't normally like tanking anything other than dungeons. And I was very susceptible to the doom and gloom that drk was getting right after the media tour. But I'm reserving judgements until I see the final product. One thing is for sure, I'm definitely maining SAM for SB. But I will still get my other classes to 70, at least the ones that I currently have at 60. We'll see what happens, but im pretty optimistic about SB right now.

I came into the game wanting to be a SCH. I felt it played the closest to my main in FFXI, which was RDM. One expansion was all it took to take everything away I loved about that job. So trust me when I say I know how it feels to see your favorite job turn into a shadow of its former self.

Along the way of becoming a SCH, I had to level CNJ and I fell in love and decided that I would main both SCH and WHM. I am very excited about 4.0 WHM and still plan to put full effort into the job. SCH though? The first job I intended to main is in danger of being dropped. I have to play 4.0 for a good month or so before any long term decisions are made, but the excitement of playing SCH just isn't there right now. I am hoping it returns.

But hanging out in the shadows, is my past love of RDM. I am and always will be a healer to my very core, but taking on a DPS main is definitely a possibility. I just have to see how it plays, but right now I absolutely love what I see. My impression of this RDM is how RDM should have been in XI.

I mained PLD and SCH during ARR, WAR and SCH again for HW. I was going to stay as WAR, but were making a new static and we found an amazing WAR, so seeing PLD got a buff too, I'm going back to it like the good old times.

It's ironic that a thread like this exists in a game where they claim we can play all jobs haha. I'd like to play SMN/AST/BRD/RDM efficiently, but with how they lock out gear weekly, its kind of hard to play them all at their max...so I'll probably stick with SMN, as usual.

Scholar is one of the jobs where I either lover it or hate it. A bit too much micromanaging is required to be a good one which goes against my true need for a simple job.

As far as red mage, I adored the job in the original Final Fantasy game. Not only did it have the coolest look, it had a bit of everything.

While I know the new red mage will have little to do with my quaint memory of red and white pixels, I'm still fond of the idea of it, and look forward to giving the job a spin as soon as I can.
