I actually meant "the poll you posted" even though I said "your poll". I guess I should have been more precise. I don't care who made the poll because the results are what matters.

The point still stands that if a poll asks about demi-beastmen and not about Viera, the result offers information about demi-beastmen, not Viera. It's a very simple concept and the title of this thread doesn't change that. You can draw any conclusion you want, but know that purposefully misinterpreting what the results say will lead to a conclusion that doesn't represent reality. You have no reason apart from personal bias to assume that everyone who voted demi-beastman wanted specifically Viera, and personal bias should be avoided if you care about what's true and what isn't.

It looks to me that you're purposefully misinterpreting the results of the poll and misrepresenting reality.

The poll clearly shows the popularity of the character archetype to which Viera belong over other character archetypes. That is a very clear indication that Viera would potentially be a very popular race, among the many other signals.

The thing with the Wolf People is that they are the first Beastmen we've seen that's wearing "normal" armour that you and I can use.
Which alot of people hinted at that it could be possible for it to be playable sometime in the future.

Not gonna happen, simply because the whole story is based on the contrast between beastmen and humanoid races, and it's clear that the warrior of light (IE: The playable character) belongs to the second group. Those wolfdudes are most probably just beastmen pushed into service of the Empire and used as auxiliaries to keep provincial rebellions at bay.

Sure, the work to implement anything costs. But if SE wants to they could implement anything they see fit.

Personally I see that the more being implemented the more diversity we get.
Which adds to a more living world in my opinion.

I would say that expecting Square Enix to implement more than one new race between now and when Final Fantasy XIV's popularity will be too low to support that kind of investment is very, very optimistic, probably unrealistically so.

It's pretty obvious that people that want a certain race want it to be implemented first, because chances are that (if any new race will ever be added at all), it very possibly would be the last.

Personally, I don't even care for viera. But it's really elementary to gauge which race would be more popular, and benefit the game most in terms of sales. Better sales, higher account retention and renewal, are something that benefits everyone among the player base, as they mean longer support, and higher budgets for content for a longer time.

Yeah I wonder how it'll play out too. Seems interesting. I also hope to see viera somewhere. Maybe viera showing up in Return to Ivalice isn't so unlikely, who knows. Or maybe we'll see them somewhere else.

The lore police have spoken. You can not have fun or interesting game play if it affects lore. Lore is God and all other aspects of the game must bow before it. Heaven forbid a valley appears that allows you to sneak into Heavens Ward zones. The lore says you have to cross that bridge. The lore says beastmen are currently not WoL.

So any suggestions to game must first go by the lore police. It is not like MSQ has played fast and loose with the story. No one has died and just been sleeping. Did that need a spoiler?

On a more technical side they want armour to be as easy to make as possible. So a few NPCs getting a few pieces of gear is a huge difference from all gear being redesigned. The current excuse for Viera was just feet. That is only one slot.

The wolf race will not be playable anytime soon due to the fact...well, I said this in the thread about the wolf folks

Would never be a playable race if SE's issue regarding Viera is their feet.

Them helms would be easier to do since the muzzle and ears the muzzle would go though the hats like how we have the horns do and the ears would get similar treatment like miqote ears,

The wierd thing they are doing for viera is to change the mesh of all shoes into high heels which personally I don't get that decision but I know they are tryig to keep with the fact fran had high heels

I am still supporting this race. I would love the "cute" version as seen in the conceptart in the OP.

Yeah, I have a feeling if we get viera, they will most likely have digitigrade feet.

What many don't seem to see is that with the ground work done (should Viera have digitigrade legs), the possibility of more unique races down the road in the life of FFXIV. Yoshi did say that he expects the game to go on for some time.
