I totally agree, DPS as a Healer should be something a player wants to do to help their party!
I guess it's my fate as a Dark Knight. Soon, I won't even feel any remorse for my actions!-Cecil Harvey-FFIV DRK
100 pages, let's go people.we can do this.
Just do it!
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
Problem is this is quite the blanket statement and doesn't line up with other recent interviews I have read with Yoshi.
The ones I have read don't explicitly outline healer dps as optional in ALL content, in fact it's the opposite, he says that in savage it's basically required while progressing content.
Which brings me to my stance, instances dungeon content is a joke in general, sure I'd like to get it done quickly but I won't hate on a healer for not dpsing, I don't assume they are doing it because "you don't pay my sub".
However if anyone has any intention in getting more into the end game content then they will have to start to learn to dps as a healer at some point, you can't "expect" to go into that content as a "pure healer".
Other interviews also bring up that despite it not being require in lower level content they did make it easier so that more healers had the option to dps where stance dancing may have been a barrier for them previously.
All in all though I'm kinda fed up with the debate and imo it's stemmed from people thinking whats done in savage content is applicable to all content, you see it in DF with healer dps, PF with "meta" comps, the bulk of people aren't savage raiders and never will be, the clear percentages make that obvious even on an easier tier like creator.... I just don't get it, you're not doing that content, just enjoy the casual stuff and stop pushing for savage attitudes outside of savage raiding.

Yoshi can say whatever he wants to say. He also said maintaining an active sub would never required to keep in-game housing.
In conclusion, Yoshi says a lot of things...
If they/we can at least throw out dots, I'm good.
And you seem to misunderstand. But that's up the healer and not to anyone else. Forcing someone to do what you want them to do is not acceptable specially when the healer is actually doing what it was made to do plus is fulfilling his job as a healer.
If the healer wants to dps great if he doesn't no big deal at the end of the day you have dps classes for it.
"A healer is a type of character class in video gaming. When a game includes a health game mechanic and multiple classes, often one of the classes will be designed around the restoration of allies' health, known as healing, in order to delay or prevent their defeat. Such a class can be referred to as a healer."
People seem to misunderstand what the healer role is and what we are actually discussing here.
I am not discussing healer dps itself.
I am discussing players refusing to put in as much effort as the rest of the group.
If someone is pressing 1/5 the buttons as the other members in their group and they consider that fine, then they are rude and inconsiderate of the other members of the group.
As are the people defending them.
I have no objections to a healer only healing.
As long as that healing is required by the group.
And that the healer is at least attempting to use all their gcds on skills beneficial to the group.
Overhealing is not beneficial.
He wouldn't do that, otherwise we would have another pre-nerf-Pharos Sirius-Steps-of-Faith situation, a bunch of people who don't know how to heal properly complaining about content being too hard for them. :B
Don't bother with Mature. Everyone answered him/her, without any kind of positive results.
You can't make logic with people who refuse to admit that their view might not be everyone's.
Having a debate with someone like that is impossible.
For him/her, a healer not doing anything for a minute, for example during the beam struggle with Diabolos in Dun Scaith, is completly normal and acceptable.
For him/her, a healer could remove all damage skills from their shortcut bars and it'd still be normal and acceptable.
There's nothing you can say that will change Mature's view on that matter. We already tried, trust me.

Alternatively he could just revert the MND=HealerDamage change and just lock Cleric Stance out in any 4-man or 8-man instance. There are a few things the development team could do to "shut the discussion down" but I continue to remain happy that they're allowing us the option to do what we desire.
It's just a shame this discussion continues to generate as much hate as it does when it shouldn't.
