But that's up the healer and not to anyone else. Forcing someone to do what you want them to do is not acceptable specially when the healer is actually doing what it was made to do plus is fulfilling his job as a healer.

If the healer wants to dps great if he doesn't no big deal at the end of the day you have dps classes for it.

"A healer is a type of character class in video gaming. When a game includes a health game mechanic and multiple classes, often one of the classes will be designed around the restoration of allies' health, known as healing, in order to delay or prevent their defeat. Such a class can be referred to as a healer."

People seem to misunderstand what the healer role is and what we are actually discussing here.

As it turns out this is not the case because people will votekick you for being lazy. Nothing short of blocking dps skills from being used in dungeons or a drastic shift in encounter design is going to get the community to feel anything other than minor disgust when they see a healer idling for 4+gcd's at a time.

Pretty much this or go back on the "playstyle differences" being a valid kick reason (which I don't think there is a chance in Hades they will do). So don't dps if you don't want to, but accept that you may be kicked as a result.

Yep. It just doesn't make anyone happy when you see someone not doing anything for half the fight.

And then you have people promoting this behavior from a position of authority. There was a podcast with someone specifically saying "I think this is the way WHM is supposed to be played." I'm not going to post it here for obvious reasons. However, this is a response to what she said that podcast. Like, if the people you play with are cool with it, that's cool, but it's when you don't play efficiently with random people. At that point it's not just your time its 3-7 other people.
