Was it mean to not pick up the extra mobs? Probably. It took me a lot of willpower to not press Unleash because my instinct is to help people, but really... is it the norm for lvl 60 DPS to pull as much as possible onto newbie tanks because the DPS can't handle being in the roulette they queued for (LEVELING)

No its not normal, they were being an ass; there's really no excuse for their behavior. Chances are, you could have handled the extras they pulled, but thats not really the point. What they should have done is asked you to pull more instead of pulling for you. The healer should have encouraged you to pull more if the healer thought they could keep you up through it. But ultimately, its on you to pull to what you're comfortable pulling. If you aren't comfortable with it, dont do it.

Of course, as another said, you only learn by doing it. Go ahead and pull small for now, but then when you get a party with a couple decent aoe classes, pull a little bigger and see how it goes. Keep practicing and eventually you'll get up to where you pull all the things!

So, as a great example of the problems my last couple of posts have been about, Level 60 Roulette drops me into Antitower, as SCH.

Party was DRK, MCH, and MCH. All 3 of them were new to the dungeon. Not that they bothered to mention any of this. The MCHs were mainly wearing ilvl 180 hunt gear, which, while hardly ideal, was fine compared to the mess that was this DRK.

Left-side PvP gear. Right side, nothing but level 57-59 accessories. As SCH, I had 21k HP in that dungeon. This DRK had 22k, while the MCHs had 13k and 11k. As a cherry on the shit sundae, the DRK only had DRG at 60 (of course) and neither MRD nor GLA were even level 15. So no Provoke. Of course.

I healed. I tanked half of the Ziggy fight. I put out more DPS than both those MCHs combined. Despite their horrific squishiness, nobody ever died. I should've just queued as a tank for roulette.

Holy cow are people so bad at mechanics. Almost all the groups I've been in haven't really had new people so I'm not understanding why people are dying to like EVERYTHING.

Oh, and, Tanks in there? If I'm pulling from you as a Bard with Quelling Strikes up you really need to step your game up. I'm getting tired of getting my face torn off by everything.

Had a monks worst fear realised in yesterday's lvling roulette. Got put into qarn with a drk, ast and brd (all lvl 50-60 and no sprout icon so I expected some common sense), say hi, we start the run. The tank decides to pull ALL the things, I'm sitting there thinking "we have a mnk and brd why bother our aoe output is poop", anyway I start using my aoes but the brd doesn't even try so one massive pull takes around 5 mins, think this would deter our tank from mass pulling? Nope! This tank was also versed in spinning, a mnks worst nightmare, this tank would not stand still, at all, ever, even on bosses, at this point I was cuddling my cat for emotional support. The icing on the cake was that the brd would run in circles if it ever pulled agro, I stopped going after enemies that the brd pulled, it wasn't worth it. This party was slowly breaking me, the mass pulling, spinning and running around, I just couldn't take it. Instead of voicing my opinions in chat I silently enacted my revenge. I decided to not stop trying to poisition myself, I wanted out this hell hole asap but because this tank was a fan of mass pulling they all pulled all the bees (smart). So I just, kinda, maybe didn't stun final sting....maybe. Every life claimed was sweet retribution. Forgive me, they mentally broke me

Speaking of mentally breaking people, had a nin in our wiping city party with 3k hp, probably had broken gear. The healers kept explaining that his gear must be broken and could he please fix it, instead he just kept asking why they didn't raise him. Ozmas tiny push back holy ohkoed this nin. Was sending my healers virtual hugs through the whole ozma fight.

This about sums up all my Dun Scaith runs lately:

Same here. Tuesday night ran DS with a friend and it was baaad. Most mechanics were being ignored and we barely had the damage to get through others. My friend kept my MNK alive when I started to tank Deathgaze and Ferdiad, until a tank buster fixed that. Which says something about the raid if I can hold off of everyone without hitting positionals and being in FoE. Last week's run was barely any better.

Same goes for WoD the other day. Haven't seen so many mechanics fire off in that place for a long, long time.

Got Dzemael in roulette last night, and while nobody died and we finished in a decent amount of time, I have to apologize to my DF group because for some reason, I cannot tank that place without looking like Tina No Tank, Fumbler of Buttons.

Just something about that zone...I never die, but it almost never goes smoothly or quickly. It just feels clunky, disjointed and no matter who is in my party, I feel like I tank it badly.

No idea why it is, but to last night's group and every DF group I get in Dzemael before I finally wire my hands and brain together in that place...I sincerely apologize.

I ran into an awkward PLD last night who took tons of figurative poking and prodding just to get him to do the first pull of the Aurum Vale.

Once he did, though, it was about as much of a disaster as I was expecting it to be, as the only moves he was using were un-combo'd Rage of Halone and extremely intermittent Flashes that weren't nearly enough to keep aggro off of anyone.

We wiped and after another long, awkward pause, he bailed, not uttering so much as a word throughout the whole ordeal.

I'm not sure how someone who plays that badly could've even gotten to level 50.

Again, I have to choose PotD. Never did much in there until I started grinding for the kinna weapon, but anyone who levels in that place exclusively is about 90% certain to be a group liability in real content, especially a tank. I didn't start doing PotD until I was already 60 and just needed extra Lore/Scripture for iLvl 230 items, and thank The Twelve I avoided it for as long as I did.

I did potd a few times when trying to cap off levels and proceed with MSQ. I'm glad I didn't do it more than that because the way MNK plays there is completely different than the rest of the game.
