    Lets be honest. All suggestions at this point need to be human sized. Feet are an issue, hands are an issue, heads are an issue. They want the smallest amount of work. Somehow other games can have varying shapes. But it is to much work for this team as currently assembled. As someone quoted Viera feet problems. As we see all races have almost the same 3d model. I am sure someone more skilled then me did an overlay It would be shocking how close they are minus ear,horn, and tail. Which are also things that clip and look really odd.

    No algorithm can account for every piece of gear. There has to be a human element, or you get cases like GW2 and WoW(first two that come to mind) where gear geometry gets more and more deformed as you get further away from humans. Tails and Auri horns already present an immense number of clipping issues; can you imagine how bad a lot of chests and helms would end up looking on something that's inhuman enough to be a beastman?

    Oh, yeah, that's totally the point I was trying to make. Even just giving characters a bit of a gut would cause most of the chest gear to look stretched out and probably low-res as the system tries to "fit" it.

    Maybe SE can compromise by making some sort of glamour set that changes your appearance to a generic look of whatever race. Nobody would be happy with it, they'd never be able to dress up as they wanted, but, they'd sorta at least look like the race they want to be?

    True about gear stretch but for feet and hands you could always say why not just have them not appear on the beast race like WoW with trolls etc. I bet certain people out there would take being able to be a less humanoid race over having viewable shoes. I doubt it'll ever be done for the points mentioned above, in order for the rest of the gear to look good, it would have to be redesigned.

    What to do about flanchards, which are combo leg/feet gear? Or how well will it handle the ankle transition?

    I wonder if maybe instead of trying to fit all old gear to new races, they could just make gear specially for non-conforming bodies. Beast man race can only wear beast man gear.

    Maybe that'll be the solution someday. Current bodies/gear are restricted by the current gear fitting algorithms or whatever. With any luck, they'll eventually implement a second fitting algorithm for a different generic-ish body type, and have gear made just for that. Eh. Then it's just falling into the "more work just to make essentially double the gear" or something. But, short of that, there's not really a good way to escape the repetitive "new race with same body type" problem.

    A lot of the boots in XIV would probably be better suited to races that have semi-inhuman feet, since they have actual geometry and aren't just texture maps. It'd take time and would undoubtedly have oversights/anomalies, but it should be doable. That said, there's also enough variety that things like a viera's heel would require attention on a case-by-case basis.

    I completely agree, the game has too much human-like races, we really need more beast-like races.
