Well, allowing everyone to be everything is not the best thing for an MMO to be honest, also, it gives Devs way less pressure to fix unbalanced classes because you can level and play another one.

First off, SE is a business, and obviously it is in this industry to make a profit, and in this day and age, almost no one will reject the idea of making a bigger profit as opposed to a smaller one, when given the chance to do so. It is covfefe to think otherwise.

Secondly, there are underlying costs, from create these "optional" items to eventually putting them on sale in Mogstation. I am more inclined to believe that SE has someone looked over the pricing model, and came up with a range that most players are comfortable with. Ofc, if the demand is no longer there, they will just cease making these items altogether, simple as that.

Lastly, if players want something bad enough, they will make it work. For example, if I like the latest glamour (which I don't) enough, I will just stop going to my favourite coffee shop for a month to get it(I spend about 20 bucks a month there), simple as that. The "value" of an item is subjective and varies from one person to the other.

    Cheers,

Theyve done it quite often throughout 3.0 and I expect 4.0 will be no different, for better or for worse for some classes...(poor whm) I've played multiple MMO's, this one is the best for me with limited time, since I can focus on one character and one only. And thats cool! We had once FC mate with 10 different alts because he didnt realize he could level more than one on the same character, and he actually got better when he realized he could just focus on one. so to each their own, but it in no way is as detrimental to an MMO as people make it out to be. It's simply a different way of playing. and that is OK. This thread is giving me a headache.....I'm out...

I love this "SE is a business" argument. Just because you are a business does not make it right to sell everything for whatever price you want. And I do believe that people would be way more happier if those things would have been ingame or less expensive. Nobody on the witcher forum cried out that they should have paid for the free DLC, no they were happy to have a game company that does not see their customers as cash cows. Just because a lot of companies do this and people buy this does not mean that they are happy with that.

Also SE can come out and tell us anything..saying thinks like cash shop financing FF14 (yet somehow we get less content in SB than HW which is already less than ARR) or that it would not exist if it was not for it, but this does not make it true. Its not like they would ever come out and say that they could have put this into the game but did not do it because they saw a way to make money.

And about WoW. Maybe we should start comparing how many items they have and how many FF14 has. I am quite sure that FF14 will win. I also read that there was quite the backlash to some of the cash shop items in WoW and that the devs reacted to that and did not release something like that again. And in lots of MMOs with a cash shop (heck even in WoW) you have the way to earn the currency ingame, so you dont even need real life money to buy those. So even if other MMOs do that too, a lot of them have a way to earn it through playing the game. But nothing like that is available here.

The only thing we as a customer can do is post our opinion about that. If you are (still) fine with that, its alright, but we also have the right to post that we dont like it, without having to read that we are all children, have no money and other things..I am quite sure that most of us know that the cash shop will stay and I know that even with all the posts they did not change their way. But I will not lay down and say nothing at all, because in the end I can at least tell myself that I tried to change something even if it bears no fruits.

(And just to make sure: I also purchased things from the cash shop, I own one paid retainer, I am not someone that wants the cash shop to burn or hate people that buy from it. Heck I can understand that you will buy it even if its overpriced, simply because there is no other way to get it. But I still find the recent expansions of the cash shop really worrisome, especially the price.)

I actually considered buying the new outfit, just because I was in the mood to spend a little extra on a game I enjoy so much, but then I saw the price and I was instantly turned away. It's baffling how even F2P MMOs don't go that crazy high with their cash shop items, yet a subscription based MMO like XIV that has plenty of income, (enough that they are striking all the deals in the world to advertise for SB), is charging such outrageous prices. Though, to be fair, I suppose a large portion of their profits are from people paying those prices.....

I've known more than a few people who have disposable incomes and are willing to pick up everything they find on a whim, and that's the very reason those of us who don't have cash to toss around aren't going to see more reasonable situations on that sort of thing. It honestly wouldn't bother me as much though if they were sticking with the "most stuff is in an event first, then goes to the cash shop" mentality that they have had in the past, but we're seeing more and more released directly to the Mogstation.....

Is this nonsense still going? God get a grip and move on.

You want it? Open your wallet and PAY FOR IT... Too expensive? DO NOT PAY FOR IT

this stuff is NOT required for you to play the game.

If we present an enquiry, and someone from SE comes out and gives us an explanation, that will become the default "truth" unless we can prove otherwise. That's how our judicial system work as well.

If there is a well planned and concentrated effort, supported by vast majority of the player-base to request SE to adjust their pricing model, then they might take another look at the pricing issue. The way most posts on this topic are presented, it will take a miracle for SE to take us seriously. Even you yourself admitted that it is a hopeless journey that you are currently on. So pardon me for not being a part of your crusade, since I am extremely allergic to any type of exercise in redundancy.

    Cheers,
