So sexy clothing, even redesigned for the male form, on a male character = crossdressing? I'm not sure where to start in on how wrong that is.
Personally torn between wanting the suits exactly as they are (because I'd love to see some crazy Balmung group try to put on a production of RHPS in-game) and being blissfully happy we're going to get something actually masculinely sexy instead of jokey. I can appreciate both aesthetics, but if I have to choose, I'm glad they went with the redesign.
Just let the people wear what they want, really. What does it even matter whether someone looks like a chicken, bunny, princess, moogle or whatever? I can not see a problem in this as long as I am not forced to dress like this. Let the guys have their sexy bunny outfit! OMG, the world is about to end!
And please stop with the gender role stuff and crossdressing bashing. We are long over the old cliché that women have to stay behind the oven and men are the only ones allowed to work or to wear suits. Honestly.

( The main request has been for the FEMALE version to be unisex )Just let the people wear what they want, really. Second Cross dressing is defined as wearing the opposite sex clothing so please know the definition before making assumptions.
Third It doesn't take a genius to realize that there are younger players out there that may misunderstand the true purpose. There are a lot of trolls out there, who ruin the game. Kids already have it hard enough and unfortunately I don't consider the educational system, nor parents, to be competent enough to explain it without being bias. Keeping the game neutral in terms of gender items or have exclusive unisex items is the safest route to take. So comments about old cliché people need to accept times have change. I understand that people have different perspectives, however in a game that we know younger player play we should be somewhat understanding and look at the bigger picture rather than some selfless need which is only cosmetic. Just because Cloud did it in FFVII to infiltrate doesn't mean it should be constant. Keep in mind the younger audience. I think for laughs and gags could be possible, however not all audiences would understand.

If the outfit is being designed for male characters, then it is not crossdressing. An item specifically made to be worn by a man is not a man wearing a woman's outfit.
I'm not even going to comment on your ridiculous assertions that a feminine outfit on a man would somehow be so traumatizing for a child when apparently the rest of the death and tragedy in this game isn't an issue.
you are aware that most of the request have been so that the female version of the bunny suit be unisex right? That is why their has been a lot of controversy and hasn't been released. If the outfit is being designed for male characters, then it is not crossdressing. Wrong. Yoshida stated that the male bunny outfit is being made by an all-female development team to make sure the outfit is going to be attractive to women. Just how the female version is obviously made to attract men. Which in its own right is bad for children isn't it?

Nobody in this thread has asked for the current bunny outfit to be made unisex. They're asking when or if the one that is currently being created to suit male characters is going to be available, and everyone in here seems to be going off the assumption that it will be redesigned to more appropriately accommodate a masculine figure.
Whether the final result will or will not be any one design is irrelevant. It's being created with the intent of being worn by men. It is, by definition, not crossdressing.
Sigh like beating a dead horse. Ok think you miss understood were the original request came from. Still Female gear on Male is cross dressing. In real Life a male dressing up in Female clothing is called Cross dressing. Wearing the opposite sex clothing is cross dressing. Hence the original request for the bunny outfit was for males to have access to female gear like bunny suit and maid outfits. Hence Cross dressing. It wasn't until recently that Yoshi said they would bring it up and try to make a male version. which is opposite to the original request. Still players wanting to wear female gear is called cross dressing. Over all it's been discussed various times same subject and people misinterpret original request.Nobody in this thread has asked for the current bunny outfit to be made unisex.
