Need or Greed? A Question of Etiquette.

If I'm on either of my DPS classes, I'll probably greed if stuff isn't a direct upgrade, but If I'm on my healer in 4 man content? I'm needing every piece of healer gear that drops, If someone else wants to gear up a healer, they are welcome to queue up as a healer and deal with the same crap I have to, unless of course they ask for the gear and have an appropriate job leveled. In 8/24 mans, I generally take a look at the other healers gear before I make the call to need. Healers put up with enough crap without cutting each other off like that,

I roll greed for seals. I never tell anyone if I really want gear because I find that to be a bit unfair to put people on a spot and pressure them out of rolling for something they may also want, so I don't assume anybody might not actually want or need it because I don't check gear either.

If I want a piece of equipment either as an upgrade or for glamour, I'll need (if on the right class) or greed (if not), otherwise I default to pass.

Otherwise, I give it a pass.

Default: Greed without looking at what the item is.
Full/near full of GC seals: Pass without looking.
Im here for one reason only: Need. Always. No questions.
Everyone else in the group needing everything: Need it back.
Someone asks for something in particular: Pass
Someone getting upset that they didnt win something: Need/votekick.

I roll need because 98% of my DF runs consists of other people who do not speak up for whatever reason about if they want a certain type of gear. In my opinion, etiquette doesn't exist until someone speaks up because expecting people to be psychic about people's needs is ludicrous.

I'll roll need when it comes up, but I'll usually pass everything if I've already won 2-3 things depending on the dungeon. If someone else speaks up about actually needing something, glamour or otherwise, I'll pass for them too.

If you're rolling Need for anything other than direct gear upgrades, you're that guy and are part of the problem with humanity these days. Your glamour, seals, desynth, or whatever else falls under greed, simply because all of these things are things you want but don't actually need.

Desynthesis gear is never even 2 tiers from the top iLv. You can not determine for me that my need to level desynthesis is lesser than the need of someone to direct gear upgrade a job that they are not even playing. You also can not tell me that if i'm farming Ravana for a glamour weapon i have to pass to someone who is not playing that job there cause their weapon happens to be i150 not i190.

People who want to shame other people for no good reason is also part of the problem with humanity these days.

direct gear upgrades mean nothing if you're not on the direct path to the top iLv.

-Else if I'm the only one capable to roll on it and I want the Glamour : Need.
-Else if I'm not the only one capable to roll on it (or if I'm not on the correct job) and I want the Glamour : Greed.
-Else : Pass.

Also I see GC seals as a currency i.e. it's related to greed, but that's just me.

I mean, by definition, etiquette isn't something you should have to, like, actively discuss with the other people involved...?
