I'm not saying its not happening at all - and ofc it sucks if it just happend to you, but if out of 100 runs 99 go fine (or at least without this happening) and one doesnt, does that really mean that something needs to be fixed?
It happens enough I think SE should make some sort of "contract" laying out expectations regarding mentor behavior in genreral and enforcing them. Although, in my personal experience it seems to happen in trials much more frequently. Most parties are decent parties, but then you can always get streaks of bad manner players.

That "contract" is already in place - when you become a mentor you agree to certain terms, including showing an exemplary behaviour, helping, answering questions etc.
Now, the enforcing part is a bit more difficult - SE cant monitor all mentors. And they also cant force anyone to do something they dont want to do - we're the once paying them to play their game, after all.
So, it comes actually down to us to report people who missbehave. And I'm saying "people" here, because again, the problem isnt really about mentors leaving but about people leaving. We've had this problem since there are roulettes.

@Vidu I didn't know they set expectations which is nice. As for enforcing it they could totally do that regardless of us paying them. If the player accepts the terms laid out then should be bound by them. They even give you access to a mentor exclusive if you actually play as a mentor. So why shouldn't they be allowed to enforce the expectations set forth for mentors. At a minimum they can strip of your mentor status and remove the mount etc.

The cost of doing so may not be something SE wants, then that is on them and players can speak out on the forums and with their wallets if they so choose to convince SE to change.

Okay, I might havent expressed myself very well here: Ofc a mentor who accepted the terms should be bound by them. I'd even go so far to say that a mentor should recive a greater punishement for missbehaviour when the mentor-status is active (and if that punishment is only that they lose the mentor-status). The real problem here is that SE cant possibly supervise every mentor - that was my point. SE can and should enforce their expectations for mentors but they need to be made aware of missbehaviour by us, in form of reports if needed.
(In that context: you can disagree with me here but once in a while I feel people need to take a deep breath and get on with their lifes instead of seeking revenge - its a game after all, we're all playing to have fun. And if someone is really harrassing you or being inapproriate you should report them right away, no arguing about that. But stuff like someone insta-leaving a dungeon... I'm not saying its okay or that it doesnt suck but they get their 30 minute lockout, maybe we can just let it go with that?)

Oh I don't disagree with we need to be the ones to report the problems. And the GM's do need to investigate to make sure it just not a revenge or petty complaint.

Sometimes crap comes up and you have to bail on the dungeon. Again sucks but life happens. However I do feel there should be a punishment if someone consistently bails on a dungeon as a mentor. I'm not talking about just one instance. But if as a mentor I ditch dungeons multiple times a week for weeks on end time for me to stop being a mentor as I am obviously not committed to set forth expectations.
