    As a solution, the jump potion has the huge advantage that the story does not get truncated for the ADD generation.

    No need to truncate the story. Just make it so it's not required to participate in all the other content. Let players who want to replay the MSQ every single time they make a new character do so if they wish, but don't force it on everyone.
