Europeans wouldn't shut up about lag during ARR and their ping was only 120-150, but now the game is optimized, intended for 220ms because Yoshi said so. What a joke. It's almost like this game feels like mud above 100ms.
I now have better ping on the new EU data center than on my own, thanks Yoshi.

To be fair its Square, I love the game but I don't have hope for a so called "Fix" anytime soon. They are most likely waiting for Stormblood so the people who are negatively affected by this will forget about it. If anyone is honestly hoping for a fix just think about things they "fixed" or are in the process of. I remember how some games I used to play had community voting on major updates/decisions. I really wish this game had votings and some transparency, We will most likely be fed a carrot on a stick to make us forget like usual. Anyway I am glad for players who had gotten better ping.

I find it funny those that don't have issues simply say, "It's your ISP, contact them" (Like they really care) "Move" (Yeah thats realistic) "I don't have an issue you're making it up" (That seems legit)

Mostly because the rest of the US that didn't live next to the old server has been dealing with way worse for a long time, and pecking this beast is humorous.

In all seriousness, people play this game with 200 ping or worse, and have been for years. Suddenly, some people are saying 100 is unplayable because someone in New York has to do it? Nah. That's not how it works, mate.

The connection strength required to play the game hasn't changed with the server move. People close to the old server just got spoiled.

NJ here. Previous ping of 25-30, now I hover around 100-110. Mudras feel a slight bit off, weaving feels slightly off, but its nothing I can't account for given some time. Once we get used to the new latency we will be fine. We are creatures of habit, give it some time.

I've got a friend who sadly is considering ending his sub soon. He is from Peru and his ping has increased dramatically. Stable at 270 spikes at 310.

Which server will be best for him? If there's any?

This is Fake News. and honestly 90% of these issues sounds like they are client side problems with your ISP, your connection and your machine in that order most likely, Not the server itself. so yeah maybe look inward first before insisting the game is dying and we should all go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure

hehehehehe. I like this. But I am in the Midwest and was closer to the old server by a little bit. I think my ISP just had better routing than it does to CA, since apparently Chicago is a maze of WTF. But I've played other games with worse lag, and you just get used to it. Suddenly going up to 100 won't make the game unplayable by any means. I do enjoy the 0 packet loss though, I think that was the biggest issue.

Went from 30ms to 79 ms

Not a huge difference, but I notice that my oGCD skill will not always go off if I try to double weave. I will have to spam the 2nd skill to make sure it goes off with the potential to clip the GCD.

On a positive note my GCD skills are significantly faster. There is no longer a slight delay for when they go off after being queued.

This game is probably the most clunky feeling game I've ever played, at least of anything that wasn't hosted in the era of 56k. It's one of several reasons I just can't ever play for more than 2-3 months at a time, and sometimes not even that long. It really made me appreciate when I played SWTOR, and that game definitely had it's issues, but clunky combat was not one of them.

While I'm no tech wizard, I'm assuming this clunky feeling to the game won't change as too much of the underlying engine is based around it. So there's not much incentive to change it unfortunately.
