Most people who do are going to have issues now. If you don't raid, you don't understand.

I do not raid savage. Simply because raids aren't happening while i am online. I really don't care about server first, i do have real goals in real life (i know, this might sound harsh, but that's how i see things).

I do play other games that are very ping sensitive (shooters) and i do play them on NA servers as well with an avarage ping of 130. No problems.

I say it again: I am NOT happy with that server move... I'm a girl, i don't adapt to changes well... In fact i am kinda goatish when it comes to changes and right now i wanna bite my desk for the 170ms ping. But what can i do? I can tell SE that i hate it but that is not gonna change a thing, sadly.

If you really wanted to get good ping you could play on the EU servers, People on the East coast have to choose between bad ping on NA or bad ping on EU. I'm in central so this isn't too big of a deal for me.

Ah come on... I get it! You are frustrated and so am i! I am just trying to tell you that it is still POSSIBLE to play and have fun with friends if you are playing with a ping around 100ms. Nothing else.

Yes i know i could switch to the EU datacenter. I simply don't wanna do that, even if they now offer to take more money with you. I love the NA ppl i played with during the last 2 years. And it really bothers me if i am unable to understand the language in the chat/being unable to talk to my group via VoIP.

Keep reading about people saying the language is an issue on EU servers. Well, I am on Ragnarok and the vast majority speak English including people who are from other countries. We also use Discord too for socializing and raids.

I used to be on Ragnarok. I remember lots of japanase in french in the chat.

I started to play FFXIV on the very first day of the alpha. So don't you - Jetstream_Fox - dare to tell me it is my fault. There WERE NO EU servers, nor NA servers when i started. There were no EU servers when i switched to Goblin to play with friends from FFXI that i have known for years. And when EU servers came up i had a history of many years with lots of US ppl i care for. I could have switched to EU but good friends over a ping that was absolutely ok? My friends were more important. If ping only counts for you and you do not care about the ppl you spend your time with: totally fine for you, totally fine for me but don't tell me that i made the wrong decision. Nobody knew that EU servers or a NA move would come in the future when i started.

from what I know, Ragnarok used to be located in JP in 1.0?

Ragnarok is home to a couple of small japanese FCs even still today...but theyre such a minority and always using the auto-translation that you wont even notice
them unless you specifically look for them. I know about 3-4 japanese players that I see frequently. French? Well, every EU server has french. But the majority of them is located on Moogle.

Ragnarok is perfectly fine and the vast majority there speaks very decent english.


So by all means, while you have my sympathy for issues like leaving friends behind, losing your house and/or gil....language barrier is not one of those problems.
