I'm not saying that we couldn't use some better visibility options for the cursor (we could). But I do have a recommendation based on my own personal habits of working with three or more screens at once.

and Windows can handle this natively.
    1. Press [Windows] key.
    2. Type "mouse" and press [Enter].
    3. In the window that appears, click "Additional mouse options."
    4. On the "Pointer Options" tab, enable "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key".
    5. Click "OK" or "Apply".

From then on, pressing either CTRL key will cause a big circle to appear around the mouse and then collapse inward on it.

It's not perfect, due mostly to it being restricted specifically to the CTRL keys, but it's a decent workaround until such time as we get a more visible cursor in game. Personally, I would like to add the request:

My experience with using this feature with graphically intensive programs like FFXIV that use DirectX/OpenGL/Vulkan overlays is that it is jerky at best and introduces framerate lag at worst. Even with a powerful machine, the implementation is so drastically imperfect that it will stutter and sometimes just not work. I'd thought to try it in FFXIV, but my experience with overlays tells me it won't work out.

Still, thanks for the tip! I hadn't found where they hid the setting in Windows 8 and Windows 10.

There's an option ingame that does exactly this. Keybind >> System >> Mouse Sonar. It's a bit obnoxious (okay, very obnoxious), but it certainly draws attention to the cursor.
