But there's already "Warlock" gear in the game. I'm pretty sure it's the caster (DoM) gear drops from the first level 50 dungeons.

Indeed there is, it's found in Wanderer's Palace HM and can also be found rarely through quick exploration Retainer Ventures.

And speaking of gear and FF Jobs, there is a level 38 piece of DoW legwear called 'Paladin's Trousers' that is not actually specifically PLD gear which is found in Cutter's Cry - I suspect they were originally 1.0 gear that was available before Jobs were actually added to the game and thus are a legacy of 1.0's often unique (as far as the FF series went) way of doing things.

I suspect the new AF set for RDM will probably be called something like 'Spellfencer's' gear, given they're basically the never added FNC class given a dust off and an image makeover.

Before I retired from FFXI, RDMs and all the other jobs had two sets of AF gear. The first set was quested levels 50-60 and was labeled the "Warlock's set". The second set, obtained at the previous level cap of 75 in endgame was labeled the "Duelists set". While the first set currently exists, I don't believe the second does, so perhaps RDM AF in FFXIV will be named after that.
