I still DPS but I sometimes don't even bother using cleric stance because I know I will have issues with it. My DPS will be shitty but still better than standing pretty. I just hope they will fix this clunky spell.
And to think supports are psychologically supportive people. I'm all for healers working together, not out-classing each other. But ok, be the best healer in your group, since it's so important.
I don't think it's the cleric stance. I've main'd both healers back in the day, and the reason I switched was the community itself, as well as the boredom when playing these jobs.
You can be the "best" healer out there, or you can be one of the most slacking ones, at the end it don't matter because healers are always at fault for everything.
And I know a lot of people, that think the same way, if the mindset of people would change a bit, and I am not saying a healer shouldn't dps/heal/both or be the scapegoat but sometimes it's just taking out of concept and making the game more of a real life job, were you need to carry people through all kind of content, then actual a game you can enjoy and relax in.
Same for tanks. I think there's a reason everybody and their pets play dps, and are very quick in screaming at the healer/tank when something goes wrong, instead of looking at their mistakes.
But sure if you want the cleric stance changed and think that fixes the problem, I am all for it, but I doubt that a lot of people would pick up healing after that, especially not new players.

I don't want to see cleric stance removed, but instead remove its cooldown, make it a snappy on/off switch because sometimes it bugs out and doesn't switch off or you just switched it on and then something unexpected happens but now you gotta wait 5 s to respond.

wut? Last time I checked, to help dpsing actually supports the whole group. In fact, it helps with skipping phases on bosses that would do a good bunch of damage otherwise.
I feel like some people really underestimate healer dps.
What're you talking about? I was replying to healers trying to out-class their co-healer.

You were replying to someone making a blanket statement that healers who actually use all the tools at their disposal, i.e. stance dance, are better players than those who don't and only wait for the tank to be hit so they can hit cure.
Stance dancing itself actually works best when both healers ARE working together, because it's better to allow both healers to keep their DoTs up and cover for each other than to have one on pure healing duty. There's a discussion on the healer forums on that, though I fear it's kinda buried >.>

Unfortunately people tend to zone in on only one type of encounters when discussing mechanics. There is a difference between savage raids, 24-man raids, daily roulettes and PvP. So I think it is in everyone's interest to adjust mechanics so that they work out in every situation, no matter what job your co-healer has/is, and most importantly; whether you are premade or not.You were replying to someone making a blanket statement that healers who actually use all the tools at their disposal, i.e. stance dance, are better players than those who don't and only wait for the tank to be hit so they can hit cure.

I can admit having misjudged on a few occasions and it took far too long to switch off Cleric and in turn my spell never got cast in time to heal.
