Actually XIV already has this feature! You may have missed it as it's one of them weird optional things.

If you join certain LS's they will tell you when hunt/nodes/fates/gates are up!!!! All it takes is a small dose of social interaction!

TLDR: Quit trying to play XIV as an offline game.
