    Job trainers could hand out future relic weapons + story

    It would fit since each weapon is not shared by other jobs.

    Rather than "toughening" up weapons by doing dgns we already have completed, they could be solo duties and quests, each with their own storyline.

    For example, SCHs could have a story centered around Nymian artifacts and once gathered through a series of hardships, meld together for a new weapon.

    NIN could be about trying to steal a special scroll from a particular rogue faction that can summon a legendary weapon.

    I have more in mind but I'd be here all day. Point is, while its too late for the current system to change this, perharps SE can reconsider the approach at relic hunting to mesh better with thia story driven game.

    While this would be awesome, it'd ALSO be a LOT of development time.

    That's, what... 14 different questlines, solo encounters, and the likes? Versus 1 shared questline?

    Considering they're already integrating Artifact gear into the job quests rather than making it a separate thing, it wouldn't be too hard to add the weapons as well.

    Well it is what is is.

    At least I consider what already exist in game. Solo duty programming already exists, job npcs already exists, etc etc.

    If we always bring up development time when we're requesting things to be added in game, we'd only get exactly what the devs want us to get, with the common denominator is both scenario being development time.

    It wouldn't be too hard to add "a" weapon as well.

    But we're talking relic here. The thing that's supposed to take you weeks to months to finish per step. I'm not sure how that'd work out. I suppose the best we could get is a generic grind with unique dialogue per job.

    The story would need to differ, but the basics of the encounters could be shared by role. Tank, healer, ranged physical DPS, melee DPS, Caster; that's only 5, not 14. Though I do take your point, it would be a lot of time due to the individual stories and tailoring the encounters to each job. I was just thinking that the basics of the encounters should be the same within each role.

    That's a pretty solid idea on cutting down on the development time.

    I just don't want to see a, 'You can have rich unique relic questlines, or a new dungeon.'

    Maybe if the last job quest give you a AF weapon (class specific) and this weapon will be then required to start the relic quest (shared quests amount all jobs).
    Or do you mean making the job quests part of the relic quests, were the player have to grind first 50 FATEs, 10 dungeons and pay 10000 tomes before getting the next weapon and the next job skill?

    During 1.x and 2.x AF were already rewards from the job quests, but relic quests still it's own thing. I prefer earning AF by job quest and have them as lv 70 starter gear instead of farming first tomes for them. And as quest reward we can put them into the armoire again.

    Considering their entire line of reasoning for putting the Artifact gear into the job quests was to both alleviate the initial gearing requirement for level 70 content and to reduce the grind involved with them, you could apply the exact same logic to the weapons and just remove most of the pointlessly unnecessary grind associated with them.

    Make dps fate grind and tanks and healers dungeon grind to help queues.

    However everyone needs fair treatment and I think the current setup is fine
