Yes, I'm talking about respect because actually talking to your teammates and figuring out a solution that works for the majority of the group is the solution here - I never talked about kicking someone straight away but only after they've proven themself uncooperative to what the majority of the group wants.
You can do PotD solo or with a smaller group, by using to DF to speed things up for yourself or to play it safe you have to accept that you're playing with other indivduals that are there for their goal, not to personally help you. Doing whatever the hell you want (specially when its the opposite to what your party wishes) is selfish and respectless - and yes, I know this comes off a bit strong right now, but just because you still need silver doesnt make you the leader of the run who gets to decide.
Both sides need to be open for communication and compromisses; wanting silver does not grant you the morale highground. The convenience and safety of using the DF comes naturally with having to deal with other people and their intrests and you need to respect that.
I'm personally okay with going out of my way in PotD under the following conditions:
- person who wants silver chests asks in party chat
- their aetherpool matches the current level somewhat - the chance to get an upgrade is related to how close your aetherpool is to the floorlevel. So I see little point in looking for chests on floors 1-10 for someone who has an aetherpool of 30+ (for example)
- party seems more or less competent
The only real design flaw I'm seeing in PotD is the addition of the DF - I mean, that content was designed to allow us to go in with flexible groups, so that no one had ever go near DF again to avoid excatly disagreements like this: There isnt - and shouldnt be! - a meta on how this content is played in DF - beside "Talk to your party to figure out what works for you right now"
If you are not willing to do that - no matter if you cant deal with "no speed run" or "no chests" you dont belong in a random-matched party and are only going to make that a stressful experience for everyone involved.
The solution cant be a flat out "you always have to go for silver chests"
