    Personal loot for 4.0 Dungeons?

    Q51: In Heavensward, players were able to increase their item level through main scenario quest rewards, but will players be able to increase their item level in the same way in Stormblood?

    A51: Similar to 3.0, players will be able to obtain gear through main scenario and side story quests. With 3.0 dungeons, there were times where gear for the role you wanted didn’t drop, or you may have lost the loot to other adventurers, so your item level may have increased slower due to these reasons. For these reasons, with the 4.0 dungeons, we made it so players can obtain the gear for their role after defeating the last boss in that dungeon.
    Really nice change, in special for leveling dungeons.

    I am SO excited for this! This should have been done a long time ago but better late than never.
    I always wondered, too, why gear dropped for classes that weren't even in the party. It just seems like it would have made sense to drop gear for one of the random 4 classes in that dungeon at the time.

    I guess it is a simple job check of the party and removing those gears that nobody can wear.

    He mention loosing loot to other players too, so looks like last boss is going to give something to everyone.

    From the wording it does sound like the player will be able to choose which piece of gear they want, possible that each player has to check the chest to pick what they want at least to me that sounds like the easiest way. A token system would be awful since it would just eat up a lot of space. The design is for players to choose the gear for their job so you would need tank, healer, dex(NIN), DEX(MCH/BRD), STR(MNK/SAM), STR(DRG) and INT, which defintiely take up a lot of slots. So it would just be easier to implement a "Choose one of the following" option with an interactive chest.

    Even though dungeon loot always gave me an incentive to continue to run it after the first clear, this is a welcome and overdue change. I like knowing I will come out of a dungeon with something I can use instead of hoping for it.

    I don't know. I think it'd just been seen as another Tomestone, 'Grind.' That and (I may be wrong, please correct me if I am), Tomestone gear cannot be De-synthesized, while Dungeon Loot can be. So, this would also be good to give some incentive for those wanting to work on their crafters.
