From the wording it does sound like the player will be able to choose which piece of gear they want, possible that each player has to check the chest to pick what they want at least to me that sounds like the easiest way. A token system would be awful since it would just eat up a lot of space. The design is for players to choose the gear for their job so you would need tank, healer, dex(NIN), DEX(MCH/BRD), STR(MNK/SAM), STR(DRG) and INT, which defintiely take up a lot of slots. So it would just be easier to implement a "Choose one of the following" option with an interactive chest.




Even though dungeon loot always gave me an incentive to continue to run it after the first clear, this is a welcome and overdue change. I like knowing I will come out of a dungeon with something I can use instead of hoping for it.


I'd love to see a untradeable bypass like other games have. If a piece of untradeable gear drops, everyone present for the drop may trade it for up to an hour or two. Once its equipped, its bound. ESO does this alongside personal loot for every boss.
What happens is at the end of the dungeon, everyone trades out gear they don't need. This might encourage more PF groups.
Personal loot sounds great...till you get multiple bosses of no loot while seeing other people get items.
The only way it works is if they increase the amount of loot so everyone get a single piece for a boss.


That's what they think SE means. Everyone gets a non-rolled upon drop. Some are speculating it will be a token, others are disliking the idea.
From what I understood from the translation, it would be a drop for everyone at the end of the dungeon.

I have terrible luck with dungeons.
I remember when Heavensward came out I got from 50 to 60 purely through dungeons. Didn't win a single gear drop (did win a minion though, which was cool)
Same thing happened with two of my alt classes

About damn time, rng has been so cruel in this game and the system has not been... great.
I do not think this will mean however that in the 24 mans for example that the same job specific gear (Bard, healer, whatever) gear can drop in 2 chests and then again in later floors, or am i reading that wrong?
